In VN, a buffie was a BIG, UGLY F**KING ELEPHANT that us enlisted guys used to have to go buy for the “fly through” officers who wanted them.
Big assed ceramic elephant with a flat spot on top to put your flower plants.
Cost 5 bux a buffie before the war ended. Cost a hundred and change after.
Now, cost about 5 bux again.
