Jobs Report Highlights Economic Problems In The Obama Economy

Obama Economy

Yes, this is the Obama economy. No matter how much Mr. "I'm the President" tries to deny it, he owns the economy in which we are living. The January jobs report was not a beacon of hope. In fact, it was really bad. The December jobs report was also in the tank. That makes two months in a row of very few jobs being created. Amazingly, the unemployment rate continues to tick down. We are being told it was because 115,000 unemployed workers found new jobs. What most of the media will not tell us is that 90,000 more unemployed workers decided to leave the workforce altogether. Given the fact that almost as many workers left the workforce as found jobs, it's no wonder the unemployment rate ticked down to 6.6%.

If you've watched any of the news in recent days, you will know the liberal spin machine is in full motion. The CBO released a report detailing just how bad ObamaCare was going to be to the workforce and we are told the reality was that workers were going to have more choices now. Did you know we can now choose to just stay home so we will be eligible for government subsidies for healthcare? Ain't life just grand? The liberal spin machine continues to spin away. Anyway, back to the story at hand.

Buried in January's jobs report is a little tidbit of information that I found interesting and relevant. This comes from the New York Times, courtesy of Right Wing News.

But the report also made plain what many Americans feel in their bones: Wages are stuck, and barely rose at all in 2013. They were up 1.9 percent last year, or a mere 0.4 percent after accounting for inflation. Not only was that increase even smaller than the one recorded in 2012, it was half the normal rate of wage gains in the two decades before the last recession.
Can you relate to the idea of wages flat lining? I know I can, with no stretching required. While everything else goes up, my wages have not increased in several years. I suppose I could blame my boss for not giving out raises, but is it really his fault? Could it be, just possibly, that the economy is in such a shambles that he is afraid to give a raise, for fear of overextending the business in such uncertain times? Could that fear be a result of the way Obama and company have managed the economy into the aforementioned shambles? Nah, it must be Bush's fault.

I know many liberals would read this post and attack me for telling the truth about their man in the White House. I haven't a problem with that. The truth is, President Obama is more interested in playing class warfare and pitting minorities against his political opponents, than he is in getting out of the way and allowing the private sector economy to drive the country forward. Until he is willing to stop his political games and do that, I suspect wages will continue to stagnate.

And while I'm on a roll, let us not leave out the sins of the leadership of the Republican Party. They are running scared of minorities and can not seem to settle their focus on the job that needs to be done. I know their power is limited because they do not control the Senate, but at the same time, does that not mean the power in the hands of the liberals is also limited? The GOP is running scared of being called bad names by the President and his friends in the liberal media. I would humbly suggest they stop backpedaling on the issues that so many of us care about.

I have no illusions that things will be changing for the better anytime soon. By my calculations, we have about three more years before President Obama retires to somewhere, anywhere, besides 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Until that happens, I suspect we will continue to hear more lies from his mouth. He will tell us how great the economy is doing, but many of us will know better. If you think wage growth is slow now, what will it look like after another three years of the Obama economy? I'm thinking not so good. For someone who claims to be a warrior for the middle class, President Obama seems to be doing his best to destroy it completely.

Liberal thought process under Obama:

If everyone quits working, unemployment would be 0%.

Terrorism comes in many ways...some violent, some not.
No, there was never any intent of helping the Middle Class, in fact, if you are a Marxist, there is no middle class...what part of that did the American people not understand? This was a financial attack, plain and simple, and it was intended from the start....

---the unemployment rate continues to tick down---

It's by design. Do the math......

ΔU = change in unemployment

For February U = 6.6

Target October U= 6.6 - (8*ΔU) = 5.8

Where ΔU = .1

At U = 5.8, a democrat Senate is a sure thing...... they hope

113,000 new private sector jobs reported in January and the unemployment rate goes down from 6.7% to 6.6%... yeah, sure. The grunts churning up these numbers have to feel a bit embarrassed.
