2 Corinthians 11:3
“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ”
.
Lincoln grew up Baptist, and he attended protestant churches with his wife and children. To say he didn’t have a religion would be false. He was a Christian. A Christian possibly dissatisfied with his church. That is very different.
“That I am not a member of any Christian Church, is true; but I have never denied the truth of the Scriptures; and I have never spoken with intentional disrepect of religion in general, or of any denomination of Christians in particular.” Lincoln July 31, 1846
