I was rooting for Manning, but I am also a huge fan of Wilson. He is a very good person and is the ultimate underdog at QB.

Manning, who was literally born into football and has every attribute given to him that a QB has...tall, skilled, work ethic, etc, and should be celebrated for excellence at his craft.

Wilson is well under six feet and fell into the category of not being an NFL QB by the experts. He entered the league and won the starting job over a highly paid free agent in a matter of days after his arrival. He’s a true champion.

I’m not a huge NFL fan, but was rooting for Peyton Manning and the Broncos to win. I wasn’t at all familiar with Russell Wilson and the SeaHawks. However, after watching the game and hearing him give God the glory - I was very impressed with Wilson and was glad they won. He is a decent young man and a credit to his profession.

See that? G-d does pick favorites. Pete Carroll and the team said after the game “that the Super Bowl win was great but Jesus is greater”. I wonder if the MSM will report that? It was mentioned on Breitbart.

Wilson looked like a Pop Warner QB who’d been suddenly thrust into the Super Bowl. Oy vey.

I DVR’d the game and watched it twice since live time.

The FIRST interview with him was on field, that black gal interviewer, she grabbed him about 2 minutes after the clock ran out.

His FIRST WORDS were something like “Thank god...” or “Glory be to god...” I forget exactly which.

All season long, this guy has WEEKLY been visiting the childrens wards at the local hospitals and just hung out with terminal kids.

Tomorrow morning Seattle will host their very first Superbowl Parade.

I have intensely followed them since I first got here in 79.

And we are very, very proud to be represented by such a fine team and the staff, coaches, and players who make it up!

Russell Wilson’s 2013 salary: $526,217
Seahawks’ 2013 total payroll: $103,940,353 (2nd in NFL)

Peyton Manning’s 2013 salary: $15,000,000
Broncos’ 2013 total payroll: $89,259,848 (6th in NFL)

What this says is that the Seahawks spent $103 million on the rest of their lineup because they could pay their quarterback not much more than the minimum wage ($405,000).

By contrast, Denver spent roughly 17% of their payroll on one player (albeit the league MVP) which left them only $74 million for the rest of their roster.

Seattle spent almost $30 million more to put a team around Wilson than the Broncos spent to put a team around Manning.

And now you know...the rest of the story.

Good for him and God bless him.

As for me, I keep seeing his name on these threads and thinking they are about the professor on Gilligan’s Island.

“Wilson looked like a Pop Warner QB who’d been suddenly thrust into the Super Bowl. Oy vey.”

A Pop Warner QB with a passer rating of 123 in the Super Bowl is quite the Pro prospect. If he grows a little taller, he may make a good CFL QB. /s

No, he is a person of color. I am proud of my Christian brother however. Never knew this about Russell.
