No doubt Putin is being an opportunist here. But that’s what happens when no one else steps up to the plate. But it isn’t going to happen with the US, we are so far gone in multiculturalism , that we are forever incapable of standing up for Christianity anymore.
I’d be careful fawning too much over Putin. If you’re looking for comparisons, he’s more Mussolini than Clinton, IMO. Violent, egotistical womanizer behind closed doors - if you believe most of the reports on why he’s divorced now.
Putin is not a good guy, but he is at least talking like one.

However, I have a few sights. My suspicion is that WE have a closet Muclim for out CIC while Russia has a closet Christian.
He was baptised, as a baby, in secret - by his mother. He has on him at al times, a cross given to him by his mother on a trip to Jerusalem as a child. He has spported the restoration of the church as the foundaton of “Mother Russia” = over 25,000 cathedrals/churchs have been restored...He is the leading world leader calling for help to stop the Christian killings going on and the the leader in stopping the endoctrination of youth by the gays - etc.
