When “folks like you” make uninformed judgements about “folks like me” there’s no point to discussion, is there? Gotta love how folks like you call yourself “Christian.” Wonder how that will hold up on the real judgment day? But honestly, just don’t care.

“...there’s no point to discussion, is there?”

That is a certainty.

Also check out his “headmaster” experience at the DeSisto Private Boarding School in MA: http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/local_news/investigations/documents-babeu-ran-private-boarding-school-with-history-of-physical-abuse

It’s even on his “bio” page (at the bottom): http://pinalcountyaz.gov/Sheriff/AboutPCSO/Pages/SheriffPaulBabeu.aspx

How did this guy get reelected in 2012?

KNXV - ABC 15 - Phoenix, reporting about Sheriff Paul Babeu of Pinal County, who was formerly Headmaster at a school in Massachusetts. . .

QUESTIONABLE RELATIONSHIP

Several students we spoke with say they also knew a secret about Babeu. It was a secret that Babeau’s older sister said she discovered one day after visiting his home.

Lucy Babeu told the ABC15 Investigators she confronted her brother after finding a student from DeSisto school living with Babeu. “I said what is this student from Desisto doing here? He says, ‘Lucy, he's my boyfriend. I love him’.”

Lucy Babeu told us her brother was having a relationship with the male student. “I said Paul get a hold of yourself here,” said Lucy. “You were his teacher! You were his Executive Director! You can't do this.”

ABC15 is not identifying the former student. He has not responded to our interview requests. At the time, he was 17 which is the legal age of consent in Massachusetts.

You can't uphold the law by breaking the law.

Sorry, FRiend, I can’t agree with your reasoning. Your “their adrenaline was pumping” scenario could be used to excuse any and all police use of excessive, even deadly, force, be it with a gun, a baton, a flashlight, a boot or their fists.

There are times when police choose to use excessive force. In those cases they're just being thugs and they have no excuse. But I don't think we can expect clear reasoning in all situations. There isn't always time.

Watching the video, I'm not sure what the frame of mind was of the cop. Did he really reason out that he ought to shoot? Did he, knowing the penalty for murder, actually choose to kill the man after weighing the pros and cons? I doubt it.

I'm not saying he gets a pass, though. But my point earlier was that such situations, where the fluidity of the situation makes proper decision making difficult, should never develop in first place.

The man that took the car knew it wasn't his to take. It's clear what the right decision should have been. He had the time to reason things out and make the right choice, yet he still chose to take the car.

That's worse, in my judgement, than to impulsively shoot in the heat of battle when there is much more uncertainty.

Any police officers who fired at this man once his hands were raised should be convicted of capital murder and executed.

The authority we give police officers to arrest, to detain, to carry weapons, to use those weapons in circumstances not permitted to others requires a HIGHER standard of conduct, not a lower one.

Yup. And that’s a real illegal (well, he *was* illegal), who got a free pass into the country because the Sheriff tried to use his authority to blackmail him into silence.

so taking a car that belongs to your sister without permission is not ok, but shooting a prisoner in the back is? really?

I couldn’t tell which one was the shooter, but I saw them cuff the dead man, not give first aid. why?

that cop needs to find a new career at the least. the fact that he is cleared and still working is very disturbing.

33 years ago, a nut shot the POTUS, a high government official, and a cop.

He was apprehended without a scratch and got a fair trial.

50 years ago, a guy KILLED the POTUS and killed a cop, and the cops took him alive.

That was a great country we lived in. I miss it.
