Yeah, I only buy that if it is a person who is constant in his bad behavior....men like Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Gerry Studds.
Everyone screws up, and everyone has a chance to get their heart and mind right. The evidence for this guy is that he was caught in a sting, genuinely repented, and immediately took steps to rectify the situation.
The voters ought to get to decide if he should stay. This isn’t what happened....the establishment shoved him out.
I still remember when the establishment GOP in D.C. and Florida tried to clear the deck for their chosen man in the Senate—Charlie Crist. But the VOTERS told them to shove it, and we removed a RINO from the party.
In this case, the GOP-E won.
