Basketball coach Curt Clawson is also seeking the seat (and really paying up his occupation): http://www.curtclawson.com/
Connie Mack IV and Mary Bono can now live in the same state since their ouster from Congress. They should take advantage of this gift from voters.
Oops. scratch that:
If drugs are that bad, why are all in Congress and all other elected positions not subjected to random drug tests?
How many others use and continue to use but simply never got caught?
I would have thought they’d have stayed in the DC area. They couldn’t pick a place a live together? Clearly they didn’t take their marriage seriously trying the long distance BS.
So that’s 2 of 3 kongressional kouples (that have served together) that have gone kaput.
I was unfamiliar with the first and only rat couple of the 3, Andrew Jacobs and Martha Keys (never heard of Keys)
Susan Molinari and Bill Paxon and still keeping the luv alive.
Don Young and Mazie Hirono may be the first bipartisan (and bicameral) couple, he endorsed her in a competitive general election against Linda Lingle so I assume they’re doing it. She has a current husband in the way though.
Hey how about a mutually beneficial arrangement between Linseed Graham and Babs Milkulsi? Lin would finally nip those gay rumors in the bud (and have someone to stand next to that will make him look tall) and Babs would have someone to feed her strained peas in her advanced age.
Didn’t Snowe and McRino marry while serving together in Congress?
They didn’t get married till ‘89, he was already Governor. So they were merely “dating” whilst serving together.
Do you think then married Howard Baker (Ev Dirsken’s daughter, didn’t know that, died 1993) “dated” Nancy Kassebaum whist they served together?
I would imagine the first congressional hookup was between a couple of dandy gentleman way back when. Perhaps James Buchanan and William Rufus DeVane King.
As you hinted at, Buchanan and King not only were rumored to be Friends of Dorothy, but to be a couple. I’m not sure how much of that merely can be attributed to the virulent politics of the 19th Century.
Senator Pete Domeneci was married throughout his Senate years and never dated any fellow members, but he did manage to knock up Senator Paul Laxalt’s daughter.
I missed that hilarious news. Pete, you dog.
The news story I found linked to one about TN Congressman Steve Cohen having a love child of his own.

I thought it turned out she wasn’t his daughter ?
Holy cow, DJ, you’re right about Cohen’s “daughter”:
Maybe Cohen is gay and this whole thing was an attempt at pretending to be straight.

Weird! He seems like a strange little man, it’s a wonder his Black cousins haven’t managed to get rid of him.
As absurd as it sounds perhaps his story is true and he was so happy to have a child that he didn’t bother to ask for a DNA test.
The woman’s mother was married to Frank Sinatra Jr at one point? LOL Steve Cohen and Frank Sinatra Jr., eskimo brothers.
Oh look the mother ran against Ron Paul in the 2006 GOP primary!

You couldn’t make this stuff up.

Clearly, it’s about eskimos, who are, in fact brothers...
That’s not what it means...
Then it’s about brothers who were, in fact eskimos...
Okay, okay... so they’re brothers by INJECTION rather than blood...
¡¡¡YES!!!
