In the spring of 2015, Alex Bellini will fly to Greenland, jump on an iceberg, and live there until it melts.
As the chunk of ice floats southward to its thawing doom, he'll witness his new home get smaller and smaller until it is no more and he finds himself adrift in the ocean. He hopes to raise awareness of climate change and global warming, and to draw parallels between his mission and the broader human condition. The main challenge, however, will be finding ways to kill time; he'll be there for up to 12 months, the limit he's set on the task. It sounds tough, but Bellini's got a pretty solid track record when it comes to weird endurance stunts.

This is an idiotic idea. Icebergs don’t just melt, they deteoriate. This means that an iceberg is not a solid block of ice but a bunch of ice pieces pressed together. As the berg moves south pieces of ice fall off. Under the right conditions, it will roll over. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.
Some times you could pull a ship up close to a berg, blow the ships horn, and a large chunk of ice would fall off the berg.
That a seal? Looks to me like a HOOMAN ....
I hope he stops by rite aid and gets a Navigator
Okay ... the polar bear is hysterical!!!
And a pretty good preview of what this idiot is getting himself into. He’ll be bear crap in a week.
Hope he drowns
He will end up frozen in the iceberg like that moose and fox in Sweden.
Ah, you’ve found the cure for Iceberg Boredom!
I am going to drop an ice cube in a small tumbler of scotch, and then slowly swirl the tumbler until the ice melts.
Then I’ll drink the chilled scotch and water to help make folks aware of global warming.
And who will have to pay for getting him off that melting iceberg?
Wow, I just realized that the Titanic was a victim of GW...
You shouldn’t have mentioned that — let it be a surprise to this idiot.
Wouldn’t it be funny if nobody paid attention to him and he fell into the Atlantic Ocean?
#52 is great. Put it on my favorites list.
Icebergs like to roll over with no warning ,Doh
...........
That was my thought. One minute you’re on the top, and the next you’re on the bottom. Plus they like to break apart in really dramatic fashion.
Stick with the ice in a glass, would be my advice.
There are laws about "Cruel and Unusual Punishments."
I am referencing Al Gore and not the bear. His demise from the bear will be swift and merciful.

Very interesting! Thanks for the information.
I wonder if his sponsors can be held liable if he’s seriously injured or dies.
Nice picture.
Don't want to leave a footprint.
