Would it be best to transport by barges as LNG

LNG is methane. It does not contain any propane.

The terms can be confusing, LNG is liquid natural gas. Methane from natural gas supercooled to -260°F.

Natural Gas Liquids are different molecules, ethane, propane, butane, etc. They are liquids are far warmer temperatures.

I was suggesting transporting LNG (methane), and then refining to propane. But that is probably the long way around.

Just send the propane North in trucks/rail/barges.

I also found that Michigan's governor has also declared a state of emergency over this.
