In 1945 renown movie director, Alfred Hitchcock was asked to produce a film that would document the horrors of the Holocaust. That movie proved so potent, so damning that the allies suppressed the film’s release. At the time, the victorious allies viewed Stalin’s Soviet Union as the next great threat to freedom and world peace and were determined to rebuild a German nation that would ally itself with the west. Ongoing damnation of the German people in the post-war era was viewed as counterintuitive.According to the Independent, Hitchcock’s documentary on the Holocaust was mothballed to the Imperial War Museum, much like the fictional Ark of the Covenant was at the conclusion of Steven Spielberg’s, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Upon discovering Hitchcock’s video record of the worst genocide in human history in a number of rusty video cans in the 1980′s, the Imperial War Museum painstakingly restored the film which has now finally been released for all to see. (Warning: This film includes footage and descriptions of the Holocaust that may prove very distressing for some.).

Times change. In 1948, the Holocaust was a fresh memory and there was little resistance in the West and even enthusiasm for the establishment of Israel. Today Holocaust deniers are invited to attend international “peace” conferences. What’s more the demographics of the United States is changing. The election of Obama and the changing US policy toward Israel is not happening in a political vacuum. There is far less support for Israel in today’s America.

Of course the Holocaust was terribe and unconscionable, and everyone except the most ideologically warped can see that. However, Leftists never make the connection between big government, leading to authoritarian rule, and then to genocide. Leftists can say, today we have big government, but not worry, there is no genocide, so everything’s fine. By the time that Hitler consolidated power, and assumed control of the totalitarian state, the Holocaust was an inevitability. Only intervention before Hitler’s rise to power before or shortly afterwards coud have prevented the disaster.
Education should be directed to exposing the rise of tyranny. Otherwise, the public will only recognize the disaster after its too late. But, I guess that’s the point. Lull the public into believing that relatively speaking, things really aren’t all that bad.

Community and individuality are not opposites. People cannot survive on their own. When the odds are stacked against you, you must rally with the oppressed and hated.

When a growing oppressive regime is taking hold, you must act, otherwise you will soon face your enemy alone and hopeless.

Strength of community is a strength as much as individualism, as long you are willing to face weaknesses in your own community. Ignoring slacking values will mean that you will be rallied against by those you oppress.

Niemöller affirms we must rally against unhealthy organized regimes. We must also stay vigilant with those that appear to be good natured, as all organisation attracts corruption. Niemöller also warns us that if it is you who are corrupt, then you will face a stronger combined force of foe!

Disturbing and depressing. I almost wish I hadn’t forced myself to watch all of this, but now I am of the opinion that every person in this country should be forced to watch it and understand what the end results of the leftist agenda is all about, IMO.
