The bad guy, aka "the deceased individual," was open carrying in an establishment where it was prohibited. As far as the good guy goes, "however, investigators are working to confirm he had a valid concealed carry permit."

That's upside down, now, isn't it.

If I owned that store, the morning after this happened, the sign would come down. On the other hand, if I owned that store, the sign would never have gone up in the first place.

When the police arrived, they should have been running LEIN info. It will identify anyone who has a concealed weapon permit.
