Hay! All ya gotta do is leave your phone plugged into your charge cord in the car. At home or office you can put your phone on wifi and it will pick up your router signal and you'll not effect your data usage whatsoever.
I listen to mine all night on the AC charger line as a sort of white noise to cover up the neighbors and their barking dogs or ambulance/fire sirens, etc
When I get up in the AM, my phone is totally charged and I'm ready to listen to Rush while I take my morning constitutional hike during his first hour out on the trail with the mountain lions, coons and bears, etc
Oh! And all this radio station business revolves around nothing but ratings, ratings and more ratings!!! Not watts, or radiation patterns, etc., etc., etc...
Hannity and Rush moved to WOR-710 in NYC because their syndicator owns WOR. Once their contract with WABC ran out they moved them to the station they own. Doesn’t make sense to have your best talent on your rivals station. As for reach, at night you can hear WOR in Florida, once listened to the station driving from Orlando to Tampa.
Be careful, because the above was my commentary.
It was my commentary, and it was me who stated that Rush was moving to a less powerful station. I was wrong.
It was my understanding that there was only one 50,000 watt station in Los Angeles. That was wrong.
I don’t know how long the present KEIB has been a 50,000 watt station. I’ll see if I can find out.
He has been shifted off his normal station in Minneapolis, Houston, New Orleans, and New York.
Actually, he’s been on the same station in New Orleans for quite a while now. He used to be on WWL Radio, but moved to WRNO several years ago. I think it was either right before Katrina or very close afterwards. WWL is all local programmers now. WRNO always refers to the radio station as 99.5 RUSH radio, even when his show isn’t broadcasting.
I was curious as I can actually get WABC 77 here in Maryland and have listened to it many times.
I am always skeptical of conspiracy theories with vague details.
In the 1960's, KRKD was a music station that played "adult contemporary" standards.
:P
50,000 day time and 44,000 night time. But it is directional and hugs the coast, not a wide land area like KFI

daytime coverage area
Compare to KFI
In Minneapolis, Clear Channel shifted its entire lineup by swapping its FM station, which was conservative talk, with its AM station, which was all sports. Now they're reversed.
I think that the reason the big stations are moving Rush out is that Rush does most of his own commercials, and the Bigs want a piece of the commercial money.
Maybe KEIB’s new motto can be:
“Radio for the Fishies”
First: KEIB
Second: KFI
Pingers to sneakers and the Quinn and Rose group. I may not have the latest list. There may be some who were added after Quinn and Rose were fired from WPGB/Clear Channel.
Just posted the same thing. LOL
It is interesting that they are rated similar, but their range is so much different.
Still it is a lot better than I had first thought.
Thanks.
“I was surprised to find that iHeartRadio does not allow reception to non-US internet addresses.”

A number of programs claim that they can not be streamed from a foreign IP. I do not know why, unless they are just too cheap to pay some fee. I can get many stations that claim that can not be streamed outside of the US. There are many ways around that. One that I use is DAR.fm, not because of streaming limitations, but because I can listen when I want, pause, as well as replay anytime. It is on their server until I delete it. It is one of the best services that I have ever subscribed to.
If I listen live, I simply look around for a station that is not limited.
Thanks Murron. The reference to New Orleans was from the Times article. If that is wrong, sorry about the repeat of incorrect information.
It is the towers and the direction I think
“Ditto that..I’d rather listen to Sean (the horror), then that moronic savage.”
I agree Savage is insufferable and Sean, although he’s a really nice guy, he’s starting to lose it. I just have to turn him off when he starts his juvenile chatter with his screener and producer - reminds me of those lame local morning drive shows.
I will have to admit to being somewhat mislead by the heralding of the “LOCAL CONTENT” by the Los Angeles Times. Most of us have heard of that move a long time coming. It was my perception that it was going to hit Rush a lot harder than I thought in our region.
Folks, I’d also like to remind you that iHeart Radio and Rush’s own internet transmission are devoid of any advertising. (I don’t believe iHeart provides advertising, but it’s been a while since I’ve listened on that venue.)
Of course on the Rush provided product at his site, we’re paying for access.
He still does that cheesy stuff?
