He's on your cell phone. Tunein Radio app.
I listen to podcasts inthe car. If the radio station dropped Rush I’d still listen via podcasts.
WOR apparently has a huge coverage area, it’s 50,000 watts, has 3 towers and broadcasts in 2 directions.

You can click the area of coverage maps at the links under that info
Rush really gets under a lot of people’s skins - even tonight on C-Span, Brian Lamb was interviewing an author named Bobb who had written a book called “Humility” - Lamb played an excerpt of Rush talking and then asked the man if people valued humility so much, why was someone like Limbaugh who always talks so well of himself so popular - Bobb answered quite appropriately, saying the boasting was part of Rush’s “persona” and usually done tongue-in-cheek - and that most of those who listen to him “get it” - Lamb looked a bit deflated......
It might not be as big an area as WABC but it covers the NYC metro area
Get the “I heart radio” app on your smart phone and stick it in your ear!!! (bud)
Bill Handel’s being on KFI is surprising. His rude-know-it-all schtick is as old as Steve Martin telling Milton Berle jokes.
As far as Rush goes, I don't think Cheap Channel's plan will be effective. Rush is too powerful, Ditto Heads are too loyal, and I predict it will backfire...hopefully.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I s'pect radio stations exist to make a buck. With Rush they will. Any market that forces him to a smaller station will find that station to be one of the big ones in about twenty minutes.
I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Thanks for the comments folks. Here in Los Angeles he was not drive time. In other places he was.
Yes, we can still get him on the internet. Lots of folks are still listening in their vehicles or radios at home.
Many people who won’t bother to access his show online, will now simply not hear it. It’s one thing to put in on because it’s there. It’s another to have to stay close to your computer to pick it up. Of course you can hear it on your phone too, if you want to tie it up, and run your battery down.
I think this is a big deal.
In Los Angeles he was heard over an area of between 10 to 15,000 square miles. He will now be able to be picked up over about 400 square miles on a good day.
You seriously think that if the FCC is attempting to muzzle Rush he’d have nothing to say about it on his program?
Rush will remain on KFI until the 17th. He’s actually on both stations as they transition.
They are calling this an soft transition or some such.
AS someone else noted, Hannity and Rush are gone from WABC NYC 770 but Levin is still there.
Those three were on that station forever and I used to pick up Laura Ingraham on it too.
I believe the change happens tomorrow.
Clear Channel changed the new L.A. Station’s call letters to KEIB, and all the Liberal “talent” that used to broadcast on that same Station are now “muted”.
As for me, living in South Orange County I can listen to Rush on the current San Diego based Station if the KEIB Signal is too weak.
Exactly! I can’t understand why so many folks don’t grasp this.
Of course it’s tongue in cheek.
Sounds like Bobb gets it.
Brian... not so much.
You do realize that other stations in the area he no longer covers can pick up his show now, right? I bet smaller stations in those areas will gladly fill the gap
Dual programming with 1150 till about 20 Jan, I think.
Thanks for the update.
Rush isn’t as quick to go defensive as some folks think he would be. It would look like him crying like a baby, no matter how justified it was.
Look, some folks aren’t buying this. I just calculated the region Rush was reaching on KFI. It was between 10 and 15,000 square miles.
His new KEIB reach will be about 400 square miles.
This means that any sales of air time will be calculated on the people the advertiser can expect to reach. I’m not sure what the figures are or how they calculated Rush’s take, but he has to be taking a massive hit in the LA market.
