The bridge slowdown went on for 4 days, per many reports.
It is the most traveled bridge in the world, per some articles.
If the bridge was in slowdown mode for 4 days, surely the governor would have been informed. Christie’s excuse: I was told it was due to a traffic study.
Either Christie was grossly incompetent as governor or he knew all of the whats and whsy and wherefores.
Christie said he didn’t know anything until last Wednesday morning, yet he implied he lost sleep for 2 nights, which would have included Tuesday night. Maybe Tuesday night was just due to severe indigestion?
Must be a different world up there.
Believe it or not we had our own earthquake here in the fab Fla. KJeys. Hard to imagine.It was a 5.1 and those in Key West claimed “buildings shook.”
They drink a lot down there and smoke funny stuff as well.The shaking may have been their own doing, IMHO.LOL!
I don’t see a small 5.1 quake opposing the mighty Gulfstream.

So was there an actual traffic study? The media is obviously not interested in covering any evidence other than guilty because they prefer having a Republican scandal to tarnish Christie as a Presidential candidate.
Mark Sokolich now on MTP saying Christie should have known about the four day lane closer. Especially, when it was always retribution creating mammoth traffic jams into the city from nowhere(NYC),deaths and aimed at Mark Sokolich of Fort Lee. This was the result of narcissistic behavior on the part of the fat guy from NJ who just can't keep his hands off zero as you so appropriately point out. I want no part of this clown.
We just had a cold front move through here. Its supposed to get down to 71 later this afternoon. Can’t even turn the A/C off.
Thankfully, we normally don’t get really cold weather except for 1 or 2 weeks per winter and by that I mean in the 20’s. I remember precautions my dad took with the car when we lived in Denver.
Teens to 0 or below is a nighmare. When at my aunt’s funeral in Butte some years ago it was -28 and the streets were a mess with packed snow and ice, snow on the ground and my cousin said it was too cold to snow any more.

Glare ice - sounds like it might be what we call black ice. It’s awful, especially with all the hills around here. You don’t necessarily know it’s there until you’re on it (especially driving in the dark - early a.m.s and evenings).
Our sunrises haven’t been until about 7:45, so should start seeing daylight in about 1/2 hour.
If there was a traffic study, apparently no one on the NY side knew about it. Nor did the Port Authority. It seems only the top echelon of the Christie administration ‘suggested’ it as an excuse.
I recall many other related threads and the presser where Christie latched onto that excuse. Many posters believed it about as much as ‘we’ did the movie excuse that cause the ME problems.
Looks like Christie finally found out what having an r behind his name means when you screw with the hard left.The media gave him the same treatment they would give any r who they are trying to take out. I'm hoping they did a good job this time!
Last thing we need is the fat guy running for potus when we have Ted Cruz and others so much better that could run.

We need more lamp posts - - Chris Matthews, Rachael Maddow, Brian Williams, F. Chuck Todd, Alan Colmes, NY Times/ A/P and WA Post editors and writers, etc., etc.
Perhaps a large and special one for Jay Carney and the communications director at the DNC for feeding all the crapola to the rest of them.

and I have NO doubt that Hillary’s minions are behind this fanning the media fire but hey, she’s got a real argument. Hillary’s not going to survive Benghazi should she decide to run . First things the pubs get out the mothers and widows of those who died in Benghazi and put them in all pub campaign commercials against her. I don’t think she’ll survive it.
I can’t stand DNC Dave but he did ask Reince a good question....to the effect that Priebus once stated that as re the IRS that Obama created a culture that allowed those things to happen. “Didn’t Governor Christie do that same thing?”

Priebus danced around it, I guess he has to.....but I don’t know about you folks, but come on, his flip of the bird by the big schmooze with Obama and now this? THIS is the best the Republican party has to offer? We got two more years to nominate somebody.....we don’t need THIS FAT BULLY!!!
Folks, I drove over the George Washington bridge many, many times. It’s brutal, a key artery between NJ and NY. For Christie to have shut that down like he did.....I could care less about that Mayor.
HE HURT US....THE PEOPLE! The schlubs commuting to a job to earn a damn living! And you’re right, it lasted over a several day period AND CHRISTIE WAS CALLED OVER AND OVER ABOUT IT!
Like fat Seargent Schultz before him, he knew nothing.

Update on the novel. I finished the rewrite last weekend and it turned out really good. I think it is a really good read and professionally done by the publishing company.
I am now waiting for the editing of the rewrite and then a couple of friends will proof read it and then begin the production stage and getting a pretty big potential endorsement.
This lady told so many lies and half truths in a half hour I literally could not keep up with them all.
According to her the left never does anything wrong, Hillary and zero are wonderful leaders, everything is our fault, and its all roses in DNC land. Even obamacare was wonderful and what Gates had to say abhorrent.
Just one of the most remarkable displays of pinochioism I have ever witnessed.
Pat, we all share your consternation when it comes to abusive government. I do find it ironic when the MSM get on their high horses about citizens being inconvenienced for political reasons, but for some reason Obama's closing down the WH for tours, various monuments, etc. to inflict the most pain possible on the public so that he can use it as leverage on the GOP for political reasons, is never mentioned.
When it comes to using the government to attack political enemies, Christie is a piker compared to Obama. The IRS scandal is among the most grievous along with tapping the phones and emails of reporters.
What these scandals teach us is that Big Government is just too big and too powerful. With the flip of a switch, we have what Snowden declared as "turnkey tyranny." Government has all the levers of power to control our lives. It just depends on who is in power as to how it will be used.

I know the weather in the Keys is different, but I remember being at my dad’s and stepmom’s home north of St. Pete in Jan some years ago when it was 28 - - everything frosted over. Some people wrapped their bushes with sheets. One guy put blue sheets around his - - looked like little people with burkas on LOL! Knowing we were going to FLA, we brought shorts and froze! Think it was somewhat unusual for the area. It was actually the same temp or warmer on many days in Seattle than where we were in FL while we were there.
