Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sent a defiant message to Israel’s leadership and U.S. mediators Saturday, telling cheering supporters that the Palestinians “won’t kneel” and won’t drop demands for a capital in east Jerusalem.

Abbas’ unusually fiery speech highlighted the wide gaps between him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the outlines of a peace deal. It also raised new doubts about the chances of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to bridge those gaps in coming weeks and come up with a framework for an agreement.

Abbas adopted tough positions in the wide-ranging speech, saying that “there will be no peace” without a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem and that he would not recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

Nice that Abbas showed his true face....now Israel can walk away from “talks” and tell Kerry no deal until the PA makes concessions...

I agree but, You and most of us know very well that the PLO have lots of support, the UN most of Europe, the power that be in the US and most of the rest of the world, and who do Israel have? well, not many, Canada for now, perhaps Australia and NZ and can’t think of to many others, can you? Red in a European news paper this morning in a obit for Sharon, that what he is most remembered for is that massacre up in Lebanon. God help us all

Israel will not have peace until she liberates Palestinian-occupied Judea and Samaria.

There will not be peace until one side is totally destroyed.

One side? If the Israelis are destroyed, that will certainly guarantee more war.

Gee, Abbas won't negotiate...

Sounds familiar.

Harry Reid (on numerous opportunities to vote on ways to budget/keep government opn): Ain't gonna happen".

BarAAAAAAAK! Obama on same issues: "I'll veto it"
