Jeb Bush is best presidential candidate for GOP in 2016
Clearwater Gazette ^ | 1/9/13 | Barney Bishop

As the political winds are turning to presidential politics in 2016, now is the time for Republicans to start thinking about their ticket. I know it's early, but the top of the Democratic ticket has already been pretty much decided by the mainstream media. It's Hillary and whoever she wants as her veep.

For the Republicans, they will need someone at the top of the ticket who is principled. He'll keep his campaign promises. He must have an economic issue that will resonate with women because men already support the GOP. Women — especially independent women — are the holy grail of a winning national campaign.

In my opinion, it can't be someone from the far right, the Tea Party.

-snip-

That means Jeb Bush as the presidential nominee and either Scott Walker or Chris Christie as the vice-presidential candidate.

Many will say there is Bush fatigue. Many will say that Christie is not conservative enough. But Christie can attract Northeastern Republicans and Democrats — voters the GOP will need in 2016.

But...but...Bush is like McCain, Romney...they are the “only ones who can win”. Even though they lost.

The GOPe never, ever learn. The TEA Party handed them massive landslide in 2010 midterms. They squandered it in 2012.

History looks poised to repeat itself

The GOP is yesterday’s garbage, let them entertain another Bush.
As you say, “who are WE going to nominate?”

“who are WE going to nominate? “

It will be Bush, Santorum, Romney or Ryan. They are next.

I stayed home the last election. If another bush runs, ditto.

There's got to be some money in the collapse of the repugnant party. Nobody would orchestrate it like this otherwise.

The repugnants lose the election. The RNC then pays, who, Rove? For consulting fees? Rove advises them in such a way as to lose another election. More consulting fees, etc?

This can't just be happening by chance.

Disclaimer at the very end of the article: Barney Bishop is a conservative Democrat ...

And he wants Democrats to win. Which is why he advises nominating Jeb.

Exactly. Welcome to the Roman Republic in the first century BC when you had to be a Patrician Scipio, Cornelius, Junius, Aemelia etc to be elected as Consul. No more brothers , wives, children cousins of pols. enough.

Romney? Not gonna happen.

Bush? Good guy...too much baggage.

Santorum? I like him, but he will be demonized in the primaries.

Ryan? Maybe, but he has been associated with a failed campaign.

My money is on someone who is a governor now, who has some (but not too much) name recognition, and whose state has been a financial success.

If we are smart we will know that he/she is strong conservative candidate and not be put off by the stuff the left will trot out to split up the party.

Think about Obama...we knew he was a raving leftist, the other raving leftists knew he was one of their own, only the LIVs believed the media line that he was a uniting centrist.

We need the same thing in reverse.

It doesn’t matter who the GOP nominates anyway. The election is going to be decided in the dems’ primary. The real battles are in statehouses and Congress.

The Obama Administration Culture is based on lies, persecution of political opponents, and violating the US Constitution.

Under the leadership of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House John Boehner, the GOP Establishment Congressional Culture is based on becoming more like the Obama Administration Culture.

By design, the GOP Establishment has become a doormat speed bump for Obamacrat politicians on the very wide, and well lighted Highway to European Socialism.

Without the capable cave-in expertise of McConnell and Boehner, the successful fundamental transformation of America into a weak, financially devastated, morally corrupt, unreliable, former World Power would not have been possible.

To those US Senators and House members who still support McConnell and Boehner, remember Einstein’s definition of insanity:

“INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS.”
