Secretary of State Matt Schultz running for Congress

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Republican Secretary of State Matt Schultz is running for U.S. Rep. Tom Latham's House seat in Iowa's 3rd Congressional District.

Schultz announced his campaign Thursday in Council Bluffs where he used to serve on the City Council.

Since he was elected secretary of state in 2010, Schultz has pushed for a state voter ID law and focused on combating voter fraud...

Ah, yes, the guy whose greatest legacy is that his enemies threw out the baby with the bathwater when they succeeded in killing the commission form of government in Cedar Rapids, replacing it with the ubiquitous popularity contest so that campaigning ability, not competency in city functions, was the only qualification for winning a seat on the city council. (Tons of trade union cash is a big help, too.)

Guessing he misses the spotlight, the limo, the sycophants, the minions, the pomp and circumstance, ...
