In many cults, one of the first things the leaders try to is cut their followers free from reality and force feed them a false narrative to get people to suspend reality and control thought.
This serves to bind the cult together and to estrange them from the rest of society and only listen to the cult leaders.
The more deeply they believe the lies and the further they drift from reality and the the truth, the more tightly they bind to the cult leaders and the more fiercely they support and defend the cult leaders.
With Obama, we have an electorate that has joined a cult of personality and needs deprogramming.
Quite a few of them will be abrubtly deprogrammed when they get their Obamacare insurance bill and realize what the word "deductible" actually means.
