"I’m a senior citizen, and I have a CHL. I carry every time I leave my home without exception. The only decisions I have are: 1) which pistol to carry, and 2) which holster configuration to wear. I also maintain proficiency by going to the range once per month, and sending at least 50 down-range. The biggest and most disturbing problem with people my age is that they still believe the LEO’s will protect them against these and other criminal events."

Agree completely, as another CHL, I carry whenever possible. I hope to never need to use my pistol against another human, but strive to be mentally prepared should the need arise. I also look at groupings of young ferals as potential threats and try to avoid being in situations where I might need to use a weapon.

It’s an outrage to call this a game.

It's also a sad and damning "tribute" to the Left who would hope for it to be deemed a "senseless game" rather than admit it is, in fact, a race war being perpetrated by those who claim the war is against them.

"While I respect your right to carry, I think it is ludicrous to see an America where everyone, especially senior citizens, having to pack heat every time they walk out the door. Even in a third world country, I do not know anyone that thinks that way. If one thinks that is America today, they need to get the hell out of dodge."

The fact you do not know anyone that thinks that way may be because they don't advertise their views. The essence of CHL holders is that they don't advertise that they are armed. The more that the predators think that potential victims may be armed, the more the thugs may think of something else to do. Also, there are millions of US citizens who go armed every day.

“I think it is ludicrous to see an America where everyone, especially senior citizens, having to pack heat every time they walk out the door.”...

Well my friend, it IS ludicrous. We senior citizens didn't cause this problem and have every right to protect ourselves from rabid animals, be they human or otherwise.

Like a few of the other Freepers, I too have a CCW permit and exercise my right to use it when and where I see fit.

This is NOT the country we grew up with, fought and paid the price to protect and we damn sure don't want to see it going where it is.

So repeating myself, “we didn't start this” but we damn sure can stop some of the “animals” from more of their B.S.

Well, I have not been there since 2004, at which time I knew no one that carried a gun, and I would have known.
I fully accept and support your right to carry. What makes me sad is the thought that anyone, outside of a notably dangerous neighborhood, would even think to be armed.
The fact that you, and apparently everyone YOU know, has to pack heat is quite frightening.
From what you say, America is no longer my country.

Good for you!

I also have a concealed carry license in Texas, am an senior citizen too, and know full well that LEOs can’t protect you.

I carry “my little buddy” (Ruger 380LCP) with me everywhere I go and keep other loaded pistols in locations in my home so no matter what door the home invaders come in, I can get to a gun in that area immediately.

In times of absolute emergency the only thing you can do with an unloaded gun is to throw it at the attacker and hope it hits him in the head and knocks him out.

Of course, if you have children you need to secure the weapon or simply teach them gun safety along with a healthy dose of pre-1970 discipline for infractions of the rules of society and home.

Sorry, But this is “New America”. Created by Obama and his minions.
Whites are now the new targets. Obama pretty much gave blacks the thumbs up on the way this country is now divided.
I see a Black person I don’t know that person is treated as a potential enemy. Caution is use and I keep my head on a swivel. I treat them civil and with respect but with all the caution one would use when approaching a strange dog.

That is what I would expect of someone like you. RUN FROM THE FACTS.

THIS IS AMERICA TODAY and it’s people like you who think we live in La-La land and ride unicorns while eating rainbow stew, while in reality the laws protect the criminals and not the law abiding citizens.

I notice in your Bio you state you reside in several countries. I’ll bet they don’t have a total break-down in society and law like we do.

I agre with you. I’ll be 60 in January and I have been packing heat since I was 18. I hope I never need to use it. But it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I agree completely. Concealed carry and the use of deadly force is a very serious proposition. The first priority is avoidance of potentially dangerous situations. The last thing I want to do is kill another human being. However, I’m too old to fight and too young to die at the hands of a feral, illiterate primate who’s attempting to establish “street cred” at my, or anyone elses expense. I will not allow anyone to take my life.

I though Mayberry was a fictional place. Evidently you were living there.

You’re exactly right, DH. I don’t live in a pretend, utopian or make-believe world. I (mostly) carry an LC9, not because I want to, but rather to ensure that when people attend my funeral they won’t be saying, “Oh well,” or “What are the odds?”

Run from the facts? I have no idea what that means. I chose to lead my years of retirement exploring other countries and cultures. It has been wonderful for me. I now live off of my small pension, something I could never do if back in the USSA.
You should join the FR “dog in a manger” group. They hate anyone that is not there to share their pain.
Oh...”Run from the facts”...YES, I certainly did. The fact that I could not live a decent life back in the USSA.
I have a love for my home country, going back to Uncle Sam, my great great great uncle (1812), but as with some of the founding fathers, I did not leave my home country, the country left me. POTUS Barky Obumbo is proof of that.

I've never heard of the Int'l Business Times before or know what kind of paper they are. But the first line of the story is BS: "Ever since the “knockout game” exploded into the public consciousness last month,...".

The knockout game, black mob violence and the high level of criminal activity among blacks has been in public consciousness for years and years. Where it exploded was into the mainstream media, which has spent decades covering up black criminality. It's no surprise to the public.

And that's a question that I haven't heard a good answer to: Why now? Why has the dinosaur media finally published some news? I don't get it. They could've gone on for years covering up black violence. Why put the knockout game everywhere now?

“...opinions have differed widely on what it is...”
___

Blacks attacking non-blacks with impunity in an anti-white, racial atmosphere created by the current administration. That’s what it is.

Bingo! Obama thrives on division and conflict. He fosters Balkanization and sets groups against each other while claiming the opposite. He is bringing the country down with planned disruption much as he has used the same tactics in setting the Middle East and North Africa on fire.

Another good way to look at shall issue CCW is as a mine field. Without it there’s a whole mass of open fields with innocent sheep mindlessly grazing that can be taken by predators at will. Adopt shall issue CCW and the whole landscape becomes a mine field for those same predators; hence, far fewer predators.

One thing is for sure. There seems to be an order of magnitude fewer of these events in CCW areas. It doesn’t mean they don’t happen, but it’s a LOT less common.

I ran the numbers recently. In my state of GA, about 5% of the adult population has CCW. It doesn’t mean they all carry all the time, but that’s a big number.

Diversity doctrines are filled with hatred for whites but many don’t realize they also single out Jews for jealousy and hatred. They encourage discrimination and violence against whites and Jews and self hatred and no identity beyond slavery for white children. They have installed tribalism. To see who that looks take a gaze at South Africa. The cultural cleansing is now complete. We are tribal and the elite can use it for nasty power. Many of the “children” playing this “game” are racist pig adults.
