The thing with A&E is their jobs are always on the bubble.
With ZZ Duck it’s a lifestyle that was around before the A&E show and they were already wealthy.
ZZ Duck can afford a ratings drop but, advertisers won’t be too keen on renewals with an idiotic business decision.
That “Business” decision stuff cuts both ways.
Sometimes you get the clean cut, other times you take the serrated edge...
Whose face can I rub it into? I’d love to contact the execs at A&E and mock and laugh at their stupidity!

2.5 million viewers when running opposite the Holiday Special season for a marathon of previously enjoyed episodes people can see from a number of other sources without commercials is a large audience.
Well they may not be litigious. But I wish they would hire a first class lawyer to sue A&E because this is a much bigger war on Christianity than just Phil Robertson.
If the family has finished for the season and does not need to renew for a new season, then your analysis seems reasonable.
But they have a following now, and if the show imparts any Christian values, I would hope they continue but with a different network. I would like to see them fight back because it will empower a lot of people against the homo fascists.
I haven’t watched their show enough on youtube other than to see scenes here and there that show how folksy and funny they can be. So I don’t know if saving their example for viewers is worth it. But they should know of Christians who have been targeted by the homosexuals for harassment and punishment.

This is a war between homosexuals and those that fear God. It is a war over the Bill of Rights, American traditions.

Nope. They will spin it that people don’t want to watch homophobes. A better strategy would have been to increase Duck Dynasty viewings not decrease them.
There is but a single war that Phil Robertson concerns himself with, and that is the war for your soul. Fighting over a TV show? The family certainly has no expectation that this series will continue indefinitely, nor do they want to live under a microscope for that long.
They cut the filming down to 4 days a week to give the family more breathing room this (next) season, and if there is one good thing from the show, it is how many invitations Phil has received to speak with congregations and spread the word of Jesus.
Now, will Willie let loose the legal beagles? Possibly. I doubt it, however. Every member of the family who has been on the show can have a very comfortable living off of residual income from the show and merchandise, not to mention their work at Duck Commander. And he has to keep his eye on the bigger prize - fighting an extended court battle will likely result in some major chains shying away from their products, and first and foremost, they are Duck Commander.

Heard one of the advertisers say that they pay based on the viewership so he’s okay either way.
