I think the modern day actors of any nationality are tending to look way less rugged or have any sort of irregular features. Just seem the vast majority of their faces all look so regular, with no character or something. I wonder if some of the older stars would even be able to make it today—I mean would Charles Bronson have become a star nowadays?

I don’t know, maybe I’m just looking at with nostalgic glasses or something.

I wonder if the prominence of western TV/movies contributed to rugged features being more acceptable. A lot of the ones with mugs started out in those.

I agree that many actors now have a similar, tailored appearance - but it most prevalent in the U.S. When you see an actor or actress who hasn't had a nose job, dental bonding work or the like, that person is rarely an American. The British and French actors in particular have a "more authentic" appearance, because they often avoid the generic appearance caused by cosmetic surgery.

There's something else in play, too - age. Hollywood stars have an ever-shrinking shelf life; if they're lucky they'll be "re-discovered" in their 40s or 50s. The British in particular seem to value their performers over a longer period, rather than discarding them when wrinkles begin to appear.

Blame the union. Hiring some guy who belongs to the actors guild (which would be most American movie stars) costs too much!

Blame the lack of quality of scripts on the darn writer’s guild, where studios have to give some of their scripts to tyros who’ve paid bookoo bucks to get a gig, even if they’re no-talent hacks.

Buddy of mine is a script hack who tried to get me a gig scripting tv shows instead of funny books. Unfortunately, there’s no way I can afford to pay guild fees.

On the trains to and from work (NYC) I hear the young men talk in effeminate voices -- and only effeminate voices. It's irritating, as well as disturbing. Ditto for some of the young women.

Manhattan has become like San Francisco. True, there was always a prominent gay culture here, but it seems to have taken over.

For a “superhero” to be an American, that person must be an effeminate, agnostic, multi-ethnic homosexual enviro-nutjob espousing every government program under the sun.

Yeah, very plausible. And the more likely an actor is to have irregular or unusually characteristic features the more likely they don’t make the jump into Hollywood, but could very well become bigger over there. Of course it’s been that way for a while. I recall seeing BBC actors who were on shows that came out in the 70’s that I thought didn’t have the look to have a similar role on US TV, but were tremendous actors.

To me it seems comedic actors get a big break on the looks standard as opposed to the standard leading man type, but that’s always been the case I guess. Maybe it’s more pronounced now.

Superheros are idolatrous, and are distractions from reality. Though, throughout the spectrum of which we live, I find that the Women’s Lib Movement shamelessly intends the dissolution of the ‘family unit’. Marketed under the guise of “equality”, this Medusa-like spectacle called Women’s Lib is a collective of other creation-destroying designers, as well.

Ponder this.....the emasculation of the male, will eventually achieve in reducing and/or eliminating of the will in ALL people, to ‘fight’ their oppressors. It would also pave the way to allow the reprobates of this world the feigned equality they seek, therefore further destroying the “family unit”. This includes those lady-libbers who, by man’s law, are allowed to disturb God’s intended plan for each gender. If there are no “manly” men to represent and define their gender, as God intended, then this will irreparably damage all that is left that defines him. If there is no more “family unit”, then all else falls out of alignment, and we shall be herds of animals to those who have made us such.

This is in alignment with devil’s doctrine, indeed. And it is clearly designed to destroy God’s plans for mankind.

It doesn’t really go unnoticed that society is more of a lab rat, than the actual rats themselves. The power structure behind the throne has persuaded us to “take the bait”. Can it not be seen that we’ve allowed our society to be groomed to care more about things like: SELF, greed, sports, television, I-ANYTHING, social gaming, carnal sex, drinking/drugs, violence, trends/fads, shopping, material possessions, so on an so forth? And that this has led us to the deepest depths of ‘idolatry’?

What an immense contribution to the success of the devil’s plan for us, we make. If this were not true, than there would be multitudes that “see”, rather than just the “few”.
