Washington (CNN) -- Sen. John Cornyn, welcome to the club.

The two-term Texas lawmaker is now the seventh Republican Senator up for re-election next year to face a primary challenge from his right. That club also includes the top Republican in the chamber, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Mike Enzi of Wyoming, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Pat Roberts of Kansas.

If this seems like deja vu all over again, it is.

The Republican E loves to beat it’s conservative base over the head about how “we need moderate candidates!” This is code for The Tea Party elected (in the primary) that dumbass Todd Akin (legitmate rape!) and we lost that seat! What they really, really mean is they want weak “controllable” candidates like Cornyn.

And oh never mind that the Republican E would not support Todd Akin financially like they should have.

Finally, the “arrogance” of the Republican E is what nauseates me. Their rationale is “well, Akin lost SO THIS PROVES The Tea Party is wrong and us smug bastards are right”. No it doesn’t. All it proves is that Akin was a horrible candidate and the Pub E’s withheld money and support thereby guaranteeing Akin’s loss.

Enzi is more conservative than Cornyn on immigration.

Cornyn is parroting Rubio.

The GOPE is super pissed that even though Mourdock lost the GOP was still able to have a confrontation with Obama and make him shutdown the government.

If Lugar was there he would have upped the percentage of Republicans who voted for the amnesty bill. It kept the percentage above 70 and no one in leadership.

Missouri is different to Texas. I think an Akin type candidate would still win even with that timing.

“Not if we take the seats with the right candidates. Screw CNN. Screw the left!! Screw the RINOS!! God save the Republic!!”

That needs saying twice... or a lot more than twice.

God Bless you sir, for making this place where we can keep up our fighting spirit in this culture war.

Agree. Talking conservative or anti establishment alone is not enough. Tea Party candidates need to be vetted too.

No. They will help. Folks on the right are sick and tired of lying sack of crap GOPers that claim to be Republicans but are simply Democrat Lites... Not voting for them any more period. If you run as a Republican you had better be a REPUBLICAN.
