The Germans were pretty rough on the Jews in the 20’s-40’s. They will carry that guitl as a society for many years to come....just as we do for slavery.

They are not to be compared. The Germans combined slavery with genocide. We just did slavery. And we not only undid slavery, we made blacks full citizens (after a period of time). When the Germans were done, there were only a handful of German Jews left, and most of them weren't about to return to a country full of neighbors who plotted to have them enslaved, tortured and killed. The Germans have a blood debt to the Jewish people that can never be repaid. It would not surprise me if Israel had a few dozen nukes reserved for Austria and Germany in the event the Jewish state is ever overrun by the Arabs, as a kind of Samson option.

People said the same thing about Jews regarding Jesus. Double standards are never a good thing.

And as I referenced on the Mandela threads, England committed horrible atrocities against the Boers, even Hitler got inspiration for the Concentration Camps, from what Britain did during the Boer War.

Wow. Nice points.

I’ve read a lot about Europe. Certainly the Germans took anti-semitism to an unacceptable extreme, but the fact is hatred for the Jews was pretty common through-out Europe. Heck, Jews weren’t that well thought of in this country to be completely honest about it.

Not even the British had a lot of love for the Jewish people. After WWII, the Jews terrorized the British government officials and threatened to keep doing so, unless Palestine was divided into two countries when the British relinquished colonial power.

I cannot relate to anti-semistism myself, but I had an uncle who was a teenager in 1930’s and 40’s Chicago. There were many different neigborhoods and the ethnic rivalrys ranged from playful, tense, mean, and all the way up to down right violent depending on the people involved. My uncle was Polish and there was always tension with the German neighborhoods for example.

In any case, the Jewish community was the one that every group ethnic agreed to was the worst....The blacks especially agreed with this assessment. My uncle used to say, “Everyone hated te Jews, but the Germans just took it way too far.” He says it was similar to how hazing can get out of hand in the military. Hazing is never meant to be nice or even friendly. In fact, hazing can be down right mean. With that said, Nno one ever expects hazing to end in death, but sometimes the beast just gets released and things get out of hand. Anger, ignorance, fear, and resentment got turned into organized murder by the German people. It’s that simple.

So, there you have an historical observation from someone who came of age in the 30’s and 40’s. My uncle wasn’t stating this stuff to be mean, he was stating this as an historical observation of life at that time. There you have it.
