“Further, as they nullify law in their attempts to bring America to heel, eventually law will mean nothing.”
Lot of people already have this mentality. Think about it, do feel bad when you go over the speed limit, jaywalk, or record a baseball game without MLB’s permission?
It is a mentality of modern society; we need to control X. So they make laws, and when you have thousands upon thousands of laws; everyone becomes a lawbreaker eventually.

“Do you think that we want those laws to be observed?
We want them broken. There’s no way to rule innocent men.
The only power the government has is the power to crack down
on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that
it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Exactly, it is literally impossible to BE a “law abiding citizen”! Those who claim to be only imagine that they are, they may ATTEMPT to be such but it cannot be done. Even when the only thing you consider law is the ten commandments it is extremely difficult to abide by all ten. Only the delusionary can imagine that he can abide by the laws of man so reasonable people try to follow moral law as they understand it without that much regard for legality. It is not man’s law that prevents me from becoming a thief or murderer, it is the teachings of my parents, school teachers, aunts, uncles and all the others who taught me their understanding of moral law, not legal matters. Those who have no moral code at all are restrained only by the possibility of arrest, imprisonment or death at the hands of their victims or law ENFORCEMENT. The law itself restrains them not in the least.

Our current government is not hampered at all by law, there is only a pretense of the rule of law, in truth the government can be counted on to disregard the law whenever the law does not suit the current purpose. There may be a great shout of,”The law is settled” but this is done with total disregard of the fact that the “settled law” is in violation of the supreme law, the constitution. We now have three branches of government composed mostly of those who are quite willing to swear that the constitution includes two clauses which say in effect, “Do as you damned well please, all the rest of this document is merely for show.”

In short anyone who still believes that we are governed by the rule of law rather than the whims of weak, lazy, greedy scoundrels should be composing his letter to Santa with full expectation of receiving every toy on his list.
