Same here...they renamed our area to xfinity, too. We have DISH. I lowered our package so that we wouldn’t have MSNBC or Al’sJazeera.

Reverse the blue and red. French flag is blue, white, red.

Thanks, mate. I sometimes get some of those flags confused. I seem to recall that Mexico's flag is red white and green, but then again so is ...Syria? Iran? Pali-land? They all pretty much look the same except for minor things in the centre.

Wait a tick; isn't the Dutch Netherlands or Norwegian flag also red white and blue?

I fired the wire just over a year ago. Over $1K saved to date.

I constantly get junk mail from them offering wonderful deals. That I can deal with, and they haven’t started phoning me yet. But the other day, a couple of late teens/early 20s types pounded on my door trying to sign me up. They were polite but persistent.

I almost had to order them off my property.

That only refers to the size of the bill.

Only if NBC decides to pull it. I don’t want conservatives demanding the pull the channel. That is all we need. Can you imagine what would be pulled next? Foxnews and then talk radio. No thank you. Let people decide by not watching. Their rating are bad as it is.

I haven’t bought anything GE for a couple years. Miniscule as my spending might be, I refuse to financially support enablers of liberalism.

Before last Friday, I would try to sneak MSNBS on every so often just to see what fools they were making of themselves. Martin Bashire crossed the line. One doesn’t let that kind of vitriol flow out of ones mouth without it being in their heart first. I don’t believe that his apology was sincere to Sarah Palin. Did he call her personal and beg forgiveness? No he did not.I am done with NBC and any of their affiliates.

MSNBC speaks as the voice of that great, great pool of upward mobility-challenged people that includes village idiots, Juan Williams, Michelle Obama, and all those who say Doh!. It serves a purpose, as does a fly-infested, worm-and-mold-ridden trash dumpster.

“Comcast owns them now.”

Heh, it must be like a hot potato that giant conglomerates toss to each other. Maybe GM or BofA will get them next.

The first problem I noted with the column is that he ID'd Fox as 'conservative', which is what American media has come to: If you present both sides of an issue, you favor the less-favored side of the matter. Since when did presenting traditional conservative ideas along with liberal progressive fantasies constitute a conservative bias?

Seeing Sarnoff's name really tweaks ancient memories in my coagulated brain cells. ;-D When I went to ABC Network in NYC Sarnoff was still the name of a giant in the business. Few would remember today, but ABC was founded on the NBC BLUE Network; it was split off of the NBC RED Network and sold to a corporate conglomerate run by Leonard Goldenson - and not too long afterwards I showed up on the scene.

I still remember meeting broadcasting techs who had built their own transmitters and other equipment... who still talked in farads and henry's. In network 'long-lines' transmission control there were still 'NBC Blue' labels collecting dust on the patch bays.

Well, enough of that, I guess. I have looked back often and wondered if we harbored liberal bias in my days... I suppose we did to some extent - BUT, not at all to the extent I see today. I worked with a tech who edited a tape of Barry Goldwater to say that he favored using nukes in Viet Nam. A few days later the elevator doors opened into the newsroom and Goldwater stormed onto the floor demanding an apology and retraction - which he immediately got. You may remember the dust up over that. Of course, apologies and retractions never have the impact of the original misrepresentation -- and the other news orgs had already made hay out of the stumble.

Just saying... ruminating... dozing... ;-)

“I have a better idea — why don’t we BOYCOTT General Electric, the parent company of NBC and this waste called MSNBC? Don’t buy a single lightbulb, appliance or any other GE product until they dump these travesties.” Right on!

And stop watching NBC and MSNBC period. No matter how much you like or enjoy watching (insert show name here) on NBC or MSNBC- Don’t Watch. It gives them positive ratings when you watch them.

NBC Universal is now 100% Comcast. Still, I will not buy any GE product, either personal or professsional. As for the latter, a new motor control center went to Square D instead of GE. I also had the excuse of GE’s dealing with customers.

Inreresting article. PBS did a docudrama about “General” Sarnoff some years ago that was pretty amusing. Apparently he was quite the dictator.

I disagree with the author’s description of Al Sharpton as “not unintellegent”. Al is a semiliterate buffoon, but most people fear the race card too much to admit how stupid he is.
