instructions for the assignment said “single spaced”, mr Impy.
Hmm, we only differed on 2, are you are 0-1.
SF @ NOLA is the other one. You are playing soccer today, trying for the tie.
Well, boys & girls, Da Bears won... in a most convincing style over Texas Tech--
And with #4 Standstillford's loss... a 'Bama-Baylor National Title game came a step closer!
Of course, in a perfect world, Johnny Football tells me, it would be a Texas A&M... Baylor National Title Game in Jerry World--
Well, since my Ducks were cheated by those Stanford loving refs... I guess a Tide-Bears slugfest in Jerry World would be acceptable--
Of course, if Jerry has lots of free booze and tons of bikini clad babes there.. that is acceptable!
Gadzooks, Duckman! You know Jerry, so what is there... to argue about?
The key game is Florida State @ Florida, November 30th.
A loss by Florida State lets an undefeated Baylor team in for sure. I don’t know if they can pass them if FS goes unbeaten. VS. Idaho and the ACC championship game (Duke?) are their other 2 remaining games.
The Gators are just 4-6 after losing 5 in row, all in conference. They also lost @Miami in week 2.
Could Baylor beat the Cowboys? Serious question.
FSU won’t lose that game, not with idiot Muschamp coaching the Gators.
Honestly, Dy, Jerry and I don't really know, but I do know this Baylor team... would certainly beat up on the Deadskins.
Bender! Stop calling me "Shirley" and... the real question is whether the Cowboys could beat either Calgary or Laval?
Remember the (really old) days when last year’s NFL champs would play the college all stars in Chicago?
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, nas-- Those were the days! Back when men were men... and women wore hats, gloves and hose when they went to shop at Neimans--
Hey, big, wouldn't you love to have been a fly on Lombardi's locker room wall... when the College All Stars beat the Packers 20 to 17 on August 2, 1963?
I recall watching that game on black & white TV, cheering on the All Stars... as QB Ron Vander Kelen passed to Pat Richter and he went 73 yards for a TD!
Future NFL greats that played for the All Stars that night were Lee Roy Jordan... Dave Robinson, Lee Roy Caffey and Bobby Bell--
BTW for those not in the know about the Chicago College All-Star Game... click HERE
Too bad we don’t have the 4 team playoff yet. 1 more year of the BS, I mean “BCS”.
OSU/Baylor sounds good but Ohio State goes to Rose Bowl against the Pac-12 winner (Oregon now back in the driver’s seat after the Stanford choke), don’t they? A #3 Baylor would go to the Fiesta Bowl.
I’m hoping Northern IL jumps Fresno State and gets to a BCS bowl.
The college all-star game was at times a really big deal.

Look at the 1940s, they got over 100,000 attendance at some of those games and most of the others were well attended.
Yes I remember it well. Back in the “old days” there weren’t nearly as many big sports games on tv.
I don’t know if Chicago had all the “gangsters” back then, Capone, etc. I do see that game was set up for charity and that may have helped it.
guaranteed loser: Vikings
guaranteed winner: Buccaneers
Sorry, Bead, that picture was taken August 2... 1963--
That is not Roger at quarterback... that is Ron Vander Kelen as Captain America didn't play until the August 6, 1965, game when the Cleveland Browns won 24-16
An interesting sidenote is Vander Kelen played for Wisconsin:
“Vander Kelen was born on November 6, 1939 in Preble, Wisconsin, which has since been annexed by Green Bay.”

Good for his all-star performance all the same.
