Fairfax county, fairfax city, and large swaths of Arlington/Alexandria are rife with zippy bumbperstickers and mcawful yard signs. As it is in new yuk, merry land, and many other states, the high concentration urban areas are full of the dhimmi-tards while the less populated areas are filled with real Americans.

Looks like Virginia is back to a gubner, right house and commonwealth’s attorney/attorney general.

Interesting times my shiney metal 4$$.

The GOP only controls the House of Delegates. The Senate is 20-20 with the now Dem Lt Gov having the deciding vote in ties.

To the Communists, it does NOT MATTER what the people think. “Democracy” to the LEFT involves imposition of the values of an enlightened elite on the entire population. In their view, We the People don’t know what’s good for us and must be controlled by any means necessary. See: Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Say-dung, Hitler, Obama and Mussolini.

Good post.

One thing that troubles me about the Va race is that McAwful is the perfect stereotype of a dirtbag Joe Isuzu car salesman. Decades of affiliation with the Clinton Crime Family. Recent obvious fraud with the Mississippi car stimulus deal.

Nobody voted for McAwful because “he’s a nice guy”.
They voted for him because they want his “message” or hate ours.

No, it means that VA has enough Big Government parasites living in Fairfax Co. to rule VA until the entire system collapses, and they begin starving to death.

Pretty good summary. It was one of the few places in the country where real estate stayed high, but only within 12 or so miles of DC. Outside of there prices fell from ridiculous to just plain overpriced. A country whose largest industry is manufacturing hamburger patties cannot afford to keep 100's of thousands of people employed around the capitol forever. Sooner or later the Fed-enabled borrow and spend madness will end and a lot of office buildings will empty out followed by neighborhoods.

I believe the barrios in Herndon will find a way to stay fed even if they have to loot the Harris Teeter (which is not well defended). The problem will be the paper pushers who will drive the SUV to the grocery store only to lose the car (and keep their life if they are lucky).

Yep...as others said, it’s a combination of government workers and female voters reflexively falling for planned parenthood propaganda.

OK, that is the worst graphic design of “bullets” ever.
Who came up with that? Looks like possibly the exterior profile of a .22 LR, but it includes the case flying with the bullet? Whoever designed that has no idea how ammunition or firearms work. Good intention, but a very crappy artistic rendition of flying bullets.

Virginians will be getting what they asked for, good and hard. I have no pity for them, sorry good VA FReepers. VA turning blue is a direct result of the massive growth of the DC nuthouse.

It ain’t the Commonwealth of George Washington anymore.

oh please, most voters have no idea what they vote for.

NJ, they elect Christie who is against minimum wage and in VA they vote down Ken but they’re against obamacare.

Fraud, illegals voting, notice how the Dem counties yet again waited to the last to turn all their votes in because they wait to see how may votes they need.
They always do the same crap here in FL even though red counties in the panhandle have still got another hour to close.

the Fed Govt should be moved to the north east and allow native VA and those who will live there all their life to decide on how their state should be.
Not certain workers who come in and vote for a handful of years and then leave.

“Nobody voted for McAwful because “he’s a nice guy”.
They voted for him because they want his “message” or hate ours.”

I think it’s both.

If you try to see things as a LIV, it helps explain it. An LIV is told by the media Republicans are kooks who hate common people and support big business. Democrats care about the little guy.

Then look what the media does to Republicans, (with some help from Republicans). George Allen the racist with the “macaca” comment. Fits perfectly to the narrative. Christine O’Donnell the witch. Michelle Bachmann... she’s a media delight. Todd Akins comment about rape not resulting in pregnancy... fits nicely with the war on women. A LIV has to think, what the heck is wrong with Republicans?!

So, the Democrat promises all kinds of goodies. LIVs like that, and don’t question how those things can be provided.

It’s easy, pick the Democrat, and hope that it’s not all lies. A liar trumps a kook. Besides, like I said, Republicans are just uncool.

Oh, and don’t forget the government workers who vote Dem, regardless of any issues, because that will keep the jobs and benefits flowing.

No. Even with the huge number of gov't workers in the DC suburbs, the Republicans easily dominated the state legislature elections, and McAuliffe won with less than half of the vote. It means that the Republicans have (again) arranged themselves into a circular firing squad. They're not known as the "stupid party" for no reason!

Ditto to your post and adding that the Low Information Voter is obviously a growing demographic. When the LIV is combined with the NOVA .gov group, it becomes a steeper challenge to overcome.

It is not logical for voters to vote for a conservative for AG and a raving liberal for governor. The two votes should be virtually equal.

There were 2,235,284 votes cast in the Governor's race with the following results:

Cuccinelli--1,011,377

McAwful-- 1,067,114

Sarvis--145,773

Write-in--11,020

There were three main candidates in the Governor's race, but only two in the AG race, which had 2,205,892 voters broken down as follows:

Herring (D): 1,100,119

Obenshain: 1,100,800

Write-in: 4,973

As you can see, about 30,000 more voted in the governor's race than the AG race, but both AG candidates got more than Cuccinelli and McAwful. Obviously, the Sarvis voters split their votes among the AG candidates. It is not unusual for voters not to vote in all of the races or they could have just overlooked a race.

Voter fraud is not what gave McAwful the victory. VA is a purple state trending blue. The demographics of the state are changing rapidly. Within a decade VA will be solid blue--at least at the state level.

Pro life and pro gun Dems are Reagan blue collar Dems. GOP lost them when they advocated North American Union, NAFTA, WTO, etc etc etc. Globalism is good for corporate America (they can buy anything and hire anyone from overseas because of cost) but will support outlawing Americans to do the same for perscription drugs (ala buying perscription drugs from Canada due to lower cost). The final nail in the coffin is bailout for Wall Street bankers because they are too big to fail, and the rest of America is too small to save. Until Buchanan American First take hold of GOP, the blue collar Dems will vote Dem as the lesser of two persoanl economic evils.

Not true.. The governor’s race had three candidates and the AG one had two. Also, voters have the option of not voting at all in any particular race.

Exactly. And Terry conned the anti-gun types who voted for him, too. To paraphrase the Gospels, it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than to get gun control legislation through the GOP-controlled VA House of Delegates. McAuliffe knows this, and won’t press the matter too much. As for Cankles, yeah, that’s just what we need, another hyper-wealthy warmongering Wall Streeter in the White House. Yup, that’s the ticket (sarc).

The GOPe was against Cuccinelli. Bill Bolling, the LT Governor, thought it was his turn to run for Governor. He had stepped aside in 2009 and allowed McDonnell, the AG at the time, to run. McDonnell supported Bolling to be his successor. Cuccinelli challenged Bolling for the nomination and won. Bolling was very unhappy and at one point, held out the possibility of running as an independent. He was a sore loser and never really backed the GOP ticket.

There were other signs that the GOPe was unhappy. The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce endorsed McAwful as did the Rep mayor of Virginia Beach, long considered a GOP stronghold and the largest city in VA. Boyd Marcus, a GOP political consultant who helped manage the campaigns of Cantor and George Allen, endorsed McAwful. And while the Democrat watched millions stream in from outside groups, the state's biggest GOP donors walked away from Cuccinelli -- and took their money with them.

He also had to lug around behind him the scandal-plagued McDonnell record. What is truly amazing is that Cuccinelli did as well has he did given the obstacles he faced.

The simple fact is that the Dems outnumber the Reps in VA. It really has nothing to do with the message, but rather numbers. Does anyone think the GOP can ever win a presidential election again in CA in our lifetime?

Back when the GOP was a viable party, I was here taking part in many of those free trade arguments. I was one of the ones that used the term “free traitor”. It appears the free traders won. But, what did they win?
