Why do traditional age (late teens early 20’s) college students need college health insurance? THE LAW says that their mommies and daddies need to cover them till they are 26.

Maybe because ObaMaoCare sent mummy and daddy into early retirement or got their policies cancelled.

Seriously, my kids had a very decent low cost college policy. They paid roughly $20 for a trip to the student health center, including prescription.

The policy was reasonable, but naturally had specific exclusions which ObaMao wouldn't permit-- no coverage for substance abuse or STDs, two of the biggest cost drivers in student insurance policies and two which are 100% preventable.

Not everyone’s mommy and daddy are around and/or have a job.
