$800 a month isn’t enough? Only buys chicken occasionally?? ... I spend about the same amount for a household of 4 adults and 2 children in a month and we eat very well.. Of course I buy store brands and large sizes ,, and I shop at deep discount groceries like ALDI ..
Yeah, it's a load of crap. They have plenty of money to get their protein from chicken, eggs, ground beef, and peanut butter. They don't even need to go to beans and mac and cheese on their food stamp allotment. And you may be eating better than they claim to while spending the same $800 at Aldi, don't forget your $800 likely includes things like tin foil, toilet paper, deodorant, and shampoo - stuff not covered by food stamps. And what about the WIC? Don't three people in the household qualify for WIC? (New mother, child, and pregnant lady).
I swear these reporters are brain dead. Why can't any of them report the truth? These hard luck entitlement articles are really making me angry.

Yes. Can a family of five eat on $26 a day? Of course, and fairly well. It helps if you shop smart and learn how to cook.
Avoid frozen pre made meals. Eat better.
