HAMPTON, Va. — Bill Clinton expressed confidence Sunday that the Obamacare web site problems will get fixed soon, and he lit into Republicans for being so critical of the law’s implementation.
“The computer deal will get fixed up. Don’t worry about that,” he said at a nighttime rally here for Virginia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Terry McAuliffe, his third stop of the day.
The former president then recalled the problems implementing the now-popular Medicare Part D in 2006.
“Everybody’s forgotten, by the way, that when President George W. Bush and the Republicans put that Medicare Part D drug program in, it was more unpopular than the health care law and they had terrible problems with the computers,” he said. “Some seniors couldn’t even get medicine they had been getting, and the local pharmacists basically got together and made sure they stayed alive until the computers got fixed.”
Medicare Part D had some Democratic support, in contrast to the Affordable Care Act, which attracted no Republican support.
“But our side, we’re not so ideological,” said Clinton. “So, instead of bashing them and screaming about how incompetent they were, most of our people just tried to help people understand the law and make it work and then wait for it to get fixed.”
He tried to link it to a broader criticism of McAuliffe’s Republican opponent.
“There’s a big difference in being an ideologue and being practical,” said Clinton, “putting people first as opposed to some abstract philosophy first.”
The website is the least of Obamacare’s problems.

I was over at DU, reading fawning comments to a post about a guy who signed up for insurance for the first time.
Here is a comment. Gives one a feel for where they are coming from:
“No one should ever have to go without health care, and no one should ever be bankrupted by the cost of that care.
High quality health care should be universally, abundantly available, free at point of service, and fully funded completely by taxes.
No one NEEDS insurance when health care is a right instead of a commodity.”

The Democrats insisted on making Medicare Part D an Entitlement for everyone including George Soros while it was proposed by Candidate George Bush as a Program to specifically help out Poor Seniors.
Of course Bush signed the flawed BIPARTISAN Bill (can you say donut hole?) because he would have been eviscerated if he didn't. Same with the spending Bills he was sent that all had Military Funding attached to insure his Signature.
I remember it like it was yesterday, the poor Old Woman crying on Al Gore's shoulder because she had to collect Aluminum Cans to buy her Prescription Drugs.
Turns out she was a UAW (GM) Retiree who refused her Millionaire Son's offer to help her out because she thought it was the Government's job to take of her.

The Medicare glitch also didn’t get anyone’s health care cancelled.

I will never understand why Medicare Part D happened. This was not an issue for most Seniors. Once again, the RINOs out Dem’d the Dems doing something that wasn’t necessary and caused many Seniors to be dumped from the plans they already had...hmmm, I get it now - the Corporations and Unions got to dump their retirees on the Taxpayers.

McAuliffe has said he was a “passive investor” in the deal, but at least some investors knew that they were betting on the lives of specific, dying individuals, The Post reported Sunday.
