You don't care that it can't economically compete with coal or gas. You demand a subsidy.

If you weren't going to demand a subsidy, you would just do it and compete head-to-head with coal and gas, but since you know that can't be done you have to campaign for a subsidy.

If solar energy is so great, go out and build a solar farm and start selling electricity to the power companies without a subsidy.

It’s just an excuse to wreck the economy of developed nations and set us all back to being “gatherers” (but not “hunters”).

You demand a subsidy.

Where have I done so? I have a good many thousand posts on this site. I may have suggested subsidizing something in one of those posts, but I can guarantee alternative energy is not among them.

The fact that you think solar power is a good idea says that you think so, because it cannot happen without a subsidy.

Or destroying thousands of square miles of wildlife habitat. You blithely said that Colorado needed 125 square miles of solar panels like it was no big deal.

My latest annoyance is the little-known conspiracy to reduce the carbon footprint of soft-drinks. My wife commented recently that the canned Dr. Pepper we bought at Costco was flat. So a couple of months later I bought some canned Coke at Safeway. Same experience.

I'm old enough to remember that when you drank a soft drink it made you burp. Now it barely bubbles when you pour a warm Coke over ice.

I'm guessing that the local Coke bottler is reducing his carbon footprint by putting less CO2 in the soda.

Sigh.

Where have I ever said I thought solar power was a good idea?

>> “I use only carbon-free electricity. Have 33 solar panels on my roof,

What a stupid schmuck. The panels are made in China, using electricity generated by coal. The workers are paid 15 cents/hour and have no benefits or vacation. He travels exclusively in his Gulfstream V, which has a carbon footprint the size of Detroit. And people LISTEN to this evil anus?

The former vice president said when he feels the need for the release of his Second Chakra he stays in discount motels fitted with smart meters and insists that the masseuse's therapy includes a solar-powered vibrator.

This purveyor of the extraordinary popular delusion of global warming/climate change has gotten fantastically rich off of manipulating and driving the sheepel into a cult/madness that is destroying economies and peoples personal wealth through stagflation. It is a crime against humanity.

I haven’t run the numbers but, I strongly suspect you aren’t doing the world any favors, may even be a net loss when compared to a more mainstream approach.

Probably. Apart from luxury good markups, the price of most goods reflects the energy going into making them. That includes the energy used by the employees putting in the hours. So spending big bucks to be green probably means you are not green.

I will be impressed if Algore moves into one of these:

Everybody lay off. Al says he doesn’t even have any fountains. This is the type of sacrifice that will cure our energy woes.

AlGore has more energy hog mansions than we have rooms in our house. He certainly didn’t earn most of the money that bought or built them. Good old tobacco farm inheritance from his racist father. And, of course, that Carbon Trading scam that fleeced the world.

He gets a big STFU from us.
