The Battered Public Syndrome [victims of Obama's lies and abuse refuse to leave him]
American Thinker ^ | October 26, 2013 | Bryce Buchanan

The battered wife syndrome is a well-known psychological malady in which an abused partner stays with her abuser, thinking things would be worse without him. They think the separation would be more painful than the beatings and can't really imagine life without their man.

For some victims, there finally comes a time when they have had enough and they face the reality that this man is not good for them. He lies to them. He hurts them. Eventually, even his sweet talk falls on deaf ears.

Watching the news this week, I have seen clips of our president lying smoothly, comfortably, and repeatedly in his bait and switch sales pitch for the comically named Affordable Health Care Act. "You like your doctor; you can keep your doctor." "You like your plan; you can keep your plan, period." "You will have much better insurance for less money". "Your insurance costs will go down by an average of $2,500. " "This plan will not increase our deficit by one dime."

All lies.

The public is being battered on health care and that is becoming increasingly obvious.

Bill O'Reilly played clips of the president responding to various administration scandals. After the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal, after the Benghazi disaster, after the IRS was used as an instrument of political intimidation, after the ObamaCare rollout debacle, the President assured us that he would "get to the bottom of this" and "hold people accountable". He comfortably played the role that was required at the time.

Then he endlessly stonewalled, held no high level officials accountable, and eventually said it was time to move past these "phony scandals." Scandals that he acted very concerned about had morphed into completely unimportant distractions.

His concern was an act, a lie.

That’s because the brain-dead public have been conditioned to believe it is racist to do so... not because his intent is to destroy the country as founded, but because he’s the first black pResident. Free pass on everything the ignorant, jug-eared fascist wants to do, because... he’s special.

It is not just battered wives but a whole bunch of categories where people are being abused by someone who has also convinced them the abusive situation is better and safer than the alternative. The abuser usually is a bully and a coward. There may even be very few actual beating but the threat of violence IS always present.

This is the curious thing.....American families, because of the higher deductibles and higher insurance rates...will have less money to spend in 2014, period. A thousand here, $500 there...over the whole year...probably well over $1,500 gone that they would have had for other purposes (as a minimum and possibly more). The nifty thing? 2015 promises to be even more.

His reaction to lost family income? That would be an interesting thing to hear.

It just feels so good when the pain stops that they want go through it over and over just for that momentary rush.

His family isn't losing anything, why would he care?

Articles like this are funny. Writing Psychology Today articles about fascist thugs carving out wealth and power on the underside of a financial oligarchy and talking about “battered wives”.

People are not informed; however, most of it is propaganda. Paid for lackeys, chearing, lying and stealing on Obama’s part.

Victims of Obama’s lies and abuse refuse to leave him.

They refuse to admit their stupidity for supporting him and blame everything else for his failures proof that some children never grow up or man up.

I’ve always maintained the American public didn’t so much as agree with Obama’s policy statements, but allowed itself to fall in love back in 2008, and that bond remains tight and lasting. Americans didn’t listen to wise advice about taking a breath and first learning more about Obama’s past... they wanted none of that ... The One in shining armor had arrived to sweep them off their feet.... they were in love and no one was going to tell them otherwise. Now, nearly five years into that marriage, they find themselves in a hellhole of abuse: beaten often, lied to regularly and mentally crushed into hopelessness and despair.

But they can’t leave him... they’ve convinced themselves he mistreats them only because he cares so much and is trying so hard to make their lives better. And anyone who steps in the relieve them of their suffering will find themselves the targets of the abused, as well as abusers.

Americans are fond of musing how things might be different if they.... not Obama.. would just try harder to behave.

They simply can’t quit him.

It sounds to me like Stockholm Syndrome. From Wikipedia:

Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes “strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other.”[4] One commonly used hypothesis to explain the effect of Stockholm syndrome is based on Freudian theory. It suggests that the bonding is the individual’s response to trauma in becoming a victim. Identifying with the aggressor is one way that the ego defends itself. When a victim believes the same values as the aggressor, they cease to be a threat.

The abuse and victim's aggressor identification are certainly there.

The ‘premise’ of teh article is sheer Bravo Sierra.

Obama supporters are just voting their personal interests and they know Democrats in general and Obama in particular give them more of Other Peoples Money.

The “GibsMeDat” voters must be dealt with sooner or later.

Sooner offers a chance of less damage to America and a greater chance of saving the Republic.
