Senate majority leader Harry Reid says that "Everybody" is "willing to pay more" taxes. He said so in an interview with a Nevada Public Radio host.
The only people who feel there shouldnt be more coming in to the federal government from the rich people are the Republicans in the Congress, Reid told the radio host, according to Roll Call. Everybody else, including the rich people, are willing to pay more. They want to pay more.
Reid rebuked the Nevada Public Radio host when he was asked what Republicans would have to concede to get Medicare and Social Security cuts on the table.
You keep talking about Medicare and Social Security. Get something else in your brain. Stop talking about that. That is not going to happen this time. There is not going to be a grand bargain, Reid said. What we need to do is have Murray and her counterpart in the House, Ryan, work together to come up with something to get out of this senseless sequestration and start the budgeting process so that we can do normal appropriation bills.
Reid said Republicans would have to agree to more tax revenue to get anywhere near a bigger deal.
They have their mind set on doing nothing, nothing more on revenue, and until they get off that kick, theres not going to be a grand bargain on theres not going to be a small bargain, Reid said. Were just going to have to do something to work our way through sequestration.
“Harry Reid says that “Everybody” is “willing to pay more” taxes”
I’m not willing to pay the taxes i do now let alone more!!
We wish you all the pain and misery you have sown Harry (the booty) Reid. A little pain will serve you well—might just turn you around to the truth. May it commence....
‘Everybody ... Willing to Pay More’ In his dreamworld maybe
You really think he cares what anyone thinks of him?
Hey Dingy Harry, YOU FIRST..oh yeah I forgot, Obama’s cronies and buddies are all exempt from paying higher taxes..its everyone else that has to pay the piper because thats how the left views Socialism
Harry Reid
“Everybody” is “willing to pay more” taxes.”
SanRat
I’m NOT!
I pay too much already.
He is right just listen to the media. The media tells us that the rich should pay more taxes and the media is competely controlled by the rich people and as long as their media is saying this then obviously the class of people who own the MSM should pay more.
Rich Repub’s are now calling in all of thier chits with all the congressmen they have bank rolled all the years telling them to set up a socialist society by breaking our immigration system. Obviously if this is what they are going to do then they need to pay more taxes as well. We middle class conservative persons do not want these steps taken. So therefore they ought to lower our taxes.
Yet Reid is not willing to pay his health insurance costs. Rather he puts that on the back of the tax payer, many who are earning minimum wage.
It is time to forcibly remove these anti-American statists from office and subject them to what they subject us to. Make them be under Social Security. Obabacare. Everything.
He would if the people of Nevada would obtain the “balls” to remove him from office.
Arkansas “Tax Me More Fund” started in Dec 2001 - Seven years later July 2008...
The tongue-in-cheek fund is meant to showcase what Huckabee feels is the hypocrisy of people who support higher taxes but refuse to donate their own money. Thirty-six donors have come forward with donations totaling $1,051.91.
In creating the fund, Huckabee said, “There’s nothing in the law that prohibits those who believe they aren’t paying enough in taxes from writing a check to the state of Arkansas. Maybe this will make them feel better.”
The 36 deposits range from two donations of a penny each to a high of $200 from a Little Rock resident. Seven have come from out of state. According to Roberta Overman, manager of the sales tax section at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, “Every penny’s being deposited, even if we get a penny.” -

That's because Republicans know that taxes on the rich are an assault on aggregate savings, and so are overwhelmingly borne by the average wage earners in the form of both lower real wage rates and lower money wage rates. So, if one wants to destroy the average standard of living of wage earners, and increase the inequality between the rich and the middle class, then increasing taxes is the way to go.

Obamacare is already the largest tax increase in history.
what happened is that Obama drained the treasury and then borrowed about $10 trillion so it could rob some more.
The continuous pillaging correlated 100% until say august when the theft began to exceed the credit line, the ceiling. When the ceiling was lifted, $300 billion was immediately borrowed to cover the tracks.

To a tax increase, I prefer Dingy Harry to have a stroke.
Reid is onto something here in saying that people are willing to pay more.
The hard working citizens of the United States of America are the most generous in the world, especially when asked to donate to help the poor, to respond to a natural disaster, to donate to their favorite charity, to their church, and so on.
But Reid cannot be more WRONG in claiming that people are willing to pay more taxes to an incompetent, inept, corrupt government that spends their tax money enriching themselves and their cronies, buying votes, and paying for mismanaged, unpopular programs and failed policies. Reid is NOT using his common sense. Half the people of this country pay ZERO taxes.
BOSTON (AP) -- Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family's new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, allowing him to avoid paying roughly $500,000 in taxes to the cash-strapped Bay State.
If the "Isabel" were kept at the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee's summer vacation home on Nantucket, or in Boston Harbor near his city residence, he would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes.
