I suppose now it will be referred to as a coverlet?
The queering of the military continues.
What’s next for the sodomy promoter? Pink instead of Dress Blues?
This is sadistic. He’s trying to control our troops through humiliation.
Gotta make the homos happy.
If you don't know who this is, you have no viable opinion on this matter. Seriously.
They look like Nazi Sturmabteilung caps. Of course Obama likes them being the Dictator he is.
We lose.
The new hat goes well with the hold the umbrella thing. Sort of like glorified bell boys for Obama.
The hat looks like something the French dragged in.
You want to come over here... and tell that to my face?
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Daly:
Sergeant Major Daniel Joseph "Dan" Daly (November 11, 1873 April 27, 1937) was a United States Marine and one of only nineteen men (including seven marines) to have received the Medal of Honor twice [Plus an Army Distinguished Service Cross]. Of the Marines who are double recipients, only Daly and Major General Smedley Butler received their Medals of Honor for two, separate actions.
Daly is said to have yelled, "Come on, you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever?" to the men in his company prior to charging the Germans during the Battle of Belleau Wood in World War I, imitating the words of the Prussian King Frederick the Great at the Battle of Kolin.
Major General Butler described Daly as, "The fightin'est Marine I ever knew!" Daly reportedly was offered an officer's commission twice to which he responded that he would rather be, "...an outstanding sergeant than just another officer."
So, don't judge the man... by the cover--
A little off topic, but I thought Daly and Butler were the only Marine recipients of two Medals of Honor. Didnt realize there were five others. And I’m intrigued by the apparant fact that those five all rec’d it twice for valor in the same actions.
Have not looked up the other Marines but many times back in the day, both the Navy and Army would award their individual Medal of Honor to one service member for the same action. Sometimes the individual would be awarded the MOH by one service and either the Navy Cross or US Army Distinguished Service Cross by the other as their particular criteria warranted.
When the Medal of Honor was conceived during the War Between the States, it was the only medal given and was awarded for any act of bravery or non combat merit whether it was beyond the call of duty as we now deem it.
Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Edwards_Walker and check out Mary Edwards Walker, the only woman ever to receive the Medal of Honor, have it rescinded in 1917 and then have it be restored in 1977 by Jimmy Carter.
And, while you are at it on 'girly' hats, get a load... of mine!
If red X above go to http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/97/Dr_Mary_Edwards_Walker_man%27s_top_coat_and_hat_c_1911.jpg/220px-Dr_Mary_Edwards_Walker_man%27s_top_coat_and_hat_c_1911.jpg
This is by design, as much as the recent report that Army troops at Fort Hood are being told that soldiers who contribute to evangelical ministries or Tea Party related organizations will be subject to discipline. Also the dismissal of numerous generals over the last few years, in some cases due to sexual misconduct, is another part of the design. It looks like a purge, not unlike what Stalin did to the Red Army in the 1930s, but without the final bullet to the back of the head.
The Administration wants to discourage conservative, Christian white men, who are overrepresented relative to the population in the armed services, especially combat units, from joining and to encourage those currently in to take early retirement. When the Red Army replaced the Imperial Russian Army, members of the old officer corps, devout Christians, and members of the aristocracy and the middle class were not welcome. The diversity offices in the armed services serve a function not unlike that of the political officers in the Red Army, in order to promote obedience to the political leadership at the top.
The hat issue is relatively minor in the overall scheme of things, but it is emblematic of the mindset of Obama and his subordinates.
Those REMF's free up the more capable Marines to fight!
That’s pretty gay. I haven’t seen anything like it since—does anyone remember the cylindrical `French cop’ fatigue caps that Kennedy made Army troops wear in the early `60s? I think his Francophile wife talked him into it.
Interesting, but still ugly. The mushroom hats are the worst, though.
“When I joined military it was illegal to be homosexual, then it became optional, and now it’s legal. I’m getting out before Obama makes it makes it mandatory”.
~ Sgt Harry Berres, USMC
PS: Now we have to wear hats that would make the french blush.
Chesty Puller is rolling over in his grave.
Love it!
