Exactly. Large swaths of the citizenry cannot stomach the concept of the Marxist failing. It negatively affects these people - many of whom are well-off and white - to the core.

Unlike most people here, I was actually in Katrina (Biloxi, not New Orleans) and the government did nothing wrong that I ever saw. They were there as quick as possible and did quite a bit. Not as much as the church and other social service people, but there’s a lot more of them.
Like I said before, may America get the chains of slavery to government it so richly desires.

I believe it. Many people who were appalled at the confusion now say well it’s been around for a while and I didn’t get cancer or anything so it must be okay. They’ll work it out. Time, sometimes just a little bit, normalizes the worst of situations.

Democrats are in reactionary mode. They’d say they support it now if their own premiums doubled.
There’s something happening that we all need to be prepared for. The war is lost. A few more battles remain, but they won’t matter. The fabled “tipping point” has been passed. There are now more -takers- that vote than there are -makers- that vote. The makers will never be in the majority again. The takers have won. 51% or more of the population now depends on government and will keep voting for more of it. The death spiral has begun.
That’s not a big change over the course of 10 months, but I don’t doubt for a moment that around half the country approves. After all, around half of adults don’t pay income tax...they simply see this (correctly) as another example of redistribution of income in their favor.
Gallup shows Barry at 43% approval -- about where George W. Bush was at this point in his second term. (Bush was 42% approve Oct 21-23 2005). We know how that ended.

I guess all the low information voters woke up.
As we sit here scratching our heads, I shall share a tale.
We had a friend over who is a Musician. She plays at Corporate Events, Weddings and other venues.
She commented to me that things are a bit slow for her and blamed, here it comes, the Government Shutdown. I almost drove off the road when she blurted that out on our way to Dinner.
Our mistake is simple. We assume people have at least a molecule of Common Sense in their heads, but they do not.
I spent the rest of the evening “informing” her of what’s going on around her. Her Husband probably shares her complete lack of knowledge outside their busy lives.
I’m not sure if I got through to her, but I gave it my best shot. Either that, or I have created a situation where my Wife and I will see her again when Obama stops lying.
