We are in agreement. I don’t know where (or if) you and I disagree.
I am totally, now and forever, a big supporter of all private business at all levels, especially the largest employers and tax payers.
However, I don’t feel sorry for any woes the Insurance companies may encounter under Obamacare. Also, I recognize their most important goal... to make a profit. I have no problem with them lobbying especially when our masters are working to impose laws that will greatly affect their business.
I was also a fan of Tyco and Enron making a profit until they were found to be cheating, stealing and committing fraud. I am no fan of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, GM, the entire “green energy” industry that is subsidized at taxpayer expense and anything else the government CHOOSES the winners in.
I also agree that we are stuck with government healthcare, likely forever. In the future we may be fighting to “privatize” the healthcare insurance industry. Remember that ugly word. Someday, we will be fighting to privatize the entire healthcare industry. Eventually we might be fighting to privatize the fossil fuel industry, the banking industry and the manufacturing industry.
I did not think we disagreed much. It’s a govt. of the lawyers, by the lawyers, and for the lawyers. The dems are masters at class warfare, and it’s pretty clear many even on FR agree with that part of it. So single-payer will come soon after the ACA pain is maximized.
Whether they’re private or public for profit doesn’t matter much to me. The lawyers have woven a web of 1000’s upon 1000’s of laws and regs and will always find some violation to tap into any vein of moving money. Public co’s are bound in tighter chains.
