A third party is not a solution that wins immediately. And in this case, I believe it would get far more than 18%, ESPECIALLY if you could get a number of seated politicians to change their affiliation. We wouldn't start from scratch as support for a party with stated values and a mission is already prevalent in America. I concede that we split tickets for several years and likely hand several seats back to Dems for a time.
I've given up on any quick fix for our nation at this point. My generation is hopeless. But I am hoping for a renewed potential American Dream for my children 20 years down the road. We are already toast for the next two elections. It's a numbers game and with Amnesty.... well you get the point.
Before we can have a third party, we would need to get a second party.
Look around. They are our master now. And we forfeited the fight to prevent that. How much more is there to lose?
Maybe you do not quite understand the implication of Obamacare. Do you realize, they no longer have to legislate most social issues? Immigration is the last of social issues that needs any sort of legislation and that's a stretch. They can now simply enact rules (millions of pages so far) under "Obamacare" to enforce. They can simply write a rule that covers illegal immigrants. No legislation needed. Want smoking to be illegal? Write a rule that forbids you to get insurance if you smoke... under Obamacare. Guns - Health issue. Speech?
The whole idea sickens me, truly. But I am listening to all ideas. I'm not convinced voting for democrats is the best course of action as a last resort. But I haven't yet dismissed it completely yet either. Democrats don't have these moral challenges as they have no morals. The ends justify the means. We are burdened by conscience and truth in this way.
All these things you say the democrats are doing or have done, did not most of those things happen under the liberal republicans control as well?
A liberal socialist is a liberal socialist, doesn’t matter if there is a (D) or an (R) in front of their name the results are the same. Right now most of the GOP in positions of power are liberal, oh they will piss and moan about the price tag of ever wacko crisis that is brought up by the democrat versions of the left but the results are the same in the end regardless of the party.
I am more than willing to vote and support any conservative candidate out there, but the days of voting for the GOP simply because they are not the democrats in name only is over, because right now their behavior isn’t any different than that of the democrats. Right now the Republicans especially in the senate are big government, tax and spend collectivist.
And that will NEVER happen unless those pols are certain you can deliver.
And unless you control the local political scene, you CANNOT deliver. And you CANNOT control the local scene as a 3rd party. You will lose a substantial number of voters that will Never go along.
Why is the RATZ party so extremist left? Even 20 years ago, the RATZ were not this extreme.
The leftists did what I am preaching now, they took control of their party at the base, at the court house level, and now we have no more liberals, we only have commie pigs masquerading as RATZ.
There is NO NEED for a 3rd party. We only need to regain control of the RNC. It is an avenue that is faster and more sure than 3rd party non starters.
I am considering dropping out of the Republican party. My entire life they have disappointed me...they don’t represent me, they don’t listen to me, they ridicule me, and take my vote for granted because I could never vote for a liberal democrat.
At least if I become an Independent there will be one less election to attend each cycle where all my candidates lose.
And do you know how she got there? F***ing Rinos behaved like Free Spending Democrats and increasingly voted for more government control until people were sick of it. Unionize TSA and make it part of the Government?
If you don't vote for Democrats to take out the Rinos, you are going to get them anyway in the long run.

In your laundry list of institutions that are controlled by the democrats, you conveniently ignored the most important: the Republican establishment.
And that is the flaw in the thinking of those who advocate supporting the Republican establishment.
If you were at war, and had one bullet, with the choice being to kill one of the enemy, or one of your own who you knew to be a traitor, you would apparently use that bullet to kill one of the enemy. But more rational people would recognize that the correct choice would be to shoot the traitor. A traitor does far more damage than a single enemy could ever dream of doing.
To support, in any way, the Republican establishment, is to support the very thing you purportedly despise.

If we (conservatives) drop all support of the loser party, rats will win everything (for a while). Let’s face it, even the worst rat ain’t much worse than the Boners and McConnells of the world. Get a good conservative 3rd party going and the gop will self implode.

We will have to fight RINOs whether we are in the same party with them or not. Better to not have them inside our party where they will know our plans, influence decisions, and sabotage our efforts. They will wreck havoc on us as they have been.
If you want to nuke the media then break up the cartels. Very few companies control most of what is seen/heard/read. Typically in a given area, one company controls one or more radio stations, TV station, and newspaper. The local TV news will tell you to read more about it in the newspaper. The media “eco-system” suffers from a severe lack of diversity.
The Democrats are clever. They get their tripe broadcast at taxpayer expense: NPR. There’s some funding that should halt. Tell ya what Democrats, here’s the compromise: all music, no news.
