A principled Speaker and a supportive caucus could tell a president and a senate to take a hike and make it stick.

Unfortunately, we had neither. Out of 535 members of congress, only 90 combined out of both houses voted against the senate raising of the debt limit. That’s slightly less than 17%.

And some of them probably were on our side for purposes of political cover only.

The Congress relinquished the power of the purse. We now live in a dictatorship. King Obama will raise the debt limit to whatever he needs to destroy our wealth and our future.
