In any case, Bambi and the Dems are so arrogant they honestly probably didn't even know that Holmes (not my favorite person) and Gray (don't know anything about him) weren't perfectly happy to be sacrificed on the altar of Obama.

True. It probably was an accident, but at least it shows that they’re listening to their constituents, something virtually unheard of nowadays.

The Stand Up! for Democracy in DC Coalition (Free DC) today applauded Mayor Gray’s determination to keep the District government running, even if the federal government closes due to a budget impasse, by declaring all DC employees to be “essential.”
Free DC rally is to get the senate democrats and obama to release the tax revenue collected by the city of Dc for the use of the city of DC.
It is NOT federal money! Through a quirk in the laws Congress must approve it’s release.
The republican led house passed a bill at the beginning of the shut down releasing the money.
I have been severely disappointed in Issa.
He investigates but never get anything done, and now standing with Eleanor Holmes Norton a total racist, and Mayor Grey, a crook from the word go, for DC Statehood.?????

Congressional investigations are always slow as molassas and frustrating. I do agree Issa could have done better with them nonetheless.
You probably already have figured out the rally wasn’t about statehood or the like but getting the Democrat Senators to let DC spend it’s own tax money to pay it’s employees.
James Madison thought of it... it's just standard Constitutional governance.
DC gets a large portion of it’s money from a federal payment. If they don’t get that payment, they don’t have much money to use.
Well, the Senate Democrats are blocking DC from using DC’s own money - from taxes, parking tickets, etc- to pay their employees.
Personally I’d like to see DC emptied.
Meanwhile it’s nice to watch some good old “Let’s you and him fight” politics working for us.
