Carly Fiorina Attacks Cruz: 'No Honor' in Fight to Defund Obamacare

Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO Northern California Republican who ran as a conservative to get the Republican Senate nomination in 2010, attacked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday, saying there was "no honor" in his fight to defund Obamacare.

Fiorina made her remarks just days after she joined the American Conservative Union, an establishment organization on the right that supports comprehensive immigration reform.

In an appearance on CNN's The Lead, Fiorina blamed the government shutdown on Cruz and implied that Republicans would have been better off waiving the white flag from the beginning on eliminating Obamacare.

"There's no honor in charging a hill that you know you can't take, only casualties, although Ted Cruz maybe got name recognition and money along the way," she said. "But President Obama wanted this shutdown. And Ted Cruz played right into his hands."

Fiorina said she felt "badly for [House Speaker] John Boehner" and emphasized that "this is Ted Cruz and President Obama's shutdown."

"Everybody could see this train wreck coming," Fiorina said.

You say this isn’t a Palin thread, yet you turn it into one. Pot meet kettle.

Plain also was high on McCain as well. However, in all fairness, sometimes we don’t see a person’s true colors at first. You have to remember, politicians want to get elected and they all try to hide their true feelings and beliefs - and do - for a while.

She has never criticized him either...even after he viciously attacked Ted Cruz. Fact are painful to accept sometimes.

I'm sure on another thread somewhere you pointed out that Palin endorsed Cruz too, right.

I'll stop saying it when she admits that it was an error. Until then, I'll make it worse for you.

She endorsed McCain too.

I didn't say that this wasn't a Palin thread and YOU and several other posters are the ones who initiated the Palin comments.

You can't be serious.

I disagree, I think he will learn what some of the limits will be when taking on the Dems and the MSM. 1995 gov shutdown should be a lesson for the GOP because the MSM played a key role in neutralizing the GOP expansion of power. The current MSM influence may be reduced by FOX, talk radio and internet, but the liberals countered with social networking, pop culture and control of education. MSM is still a potent force to cover for the Dem failures.

Disagree all you want.

What you are left with, with your approach, is accepting the status quo, instead of fighting on principle.

Accepting false strategic thinking, instead of taking the enemy head-on in terms of communicating principle.

That's what Ted Cruz brings to the table, just like Ronald Reagan.

Reagan had more of the "Damn the torpedoes, full-steam ahead" approach to politics and principle and it's why the GOP-E and the Democrats hated him, and the common man loved him.

Ted Cruz has the same approach and most of the same skill-set.

And it is exactly what the base is screaming for and this country needs.

The only other direction is to accept the mealy-mouthedness, middle-of-the-road, no fight, but strategize crap that GWB, Karl Rove, McConnell, McCain, Grahmnesty, and even Rand Paul, at times, brings tot he table.

Fight or go home!

"This is a thread about Cruz and Fiorina, both who were endorsed by Palin"

What part of this isn't a Palin thread do you not understand?

Hugh and Series.

I didn't say that one shouldn't point out that Palin endorsed Fiorina.

I did say that to point out that Palin endorsed Fiorina without saying that Palin endorsed Cruz on a Fiorina/Cruz thread is not giving the full picture.

And I won't stop pointing that out.

They don’t know when to quit do they? I mean they need to get a life and just join the **cking Democrat party. What these progressive Republicans are really saying is that big govt really isn’t a threat to liberty and we should just accept it no matter the damage or hurt it will cause to the economy and the nation.

Perhaps, although Cruz was a strong alternative against that lieutenant governor who shall not be named because Cruz had held statewide office. It's not as if she brought him out of nowhere.

And I won't stop pointing that out.

Her performance in Wassilla and as governor of Alaska suggest that she is not who you dream she is. I was wildly enthusiastic about her like most FReepers, especially after her acceptance speech. It was listening to her later and researching her record that convinced me otherwise, as her choices of candidates for endorsement later confirmed. She makes a better cheerleader than she does a candidate. Endless empty platitudes don't go far with me.

You might want to read up on Hugh and Series on the FReeper lexicon list. But I know your too lazy and smart to be educated.

If the polls blame Obama and Dems for shutdown Cruz’s approach has merit. Unfortunately that is not happening. Now I will concede on one thing, if the shutdown drags on, and the polls turn on the Dems and Obama, then Cruz’s approach is correct and I need to be more patient. Only time will tell.

Palin can’t read minds you know. Palin also endorsed Rubio and Cruz too. Rubio turned out to be a traitor as well. But Palin record of picking candidates is still good imho, because without her, theres no Cruz

The polls are from the state run media. If the ‘Rats were winning they wouldn’t be pounding the table. Cruz is silent. Turn off the propaganda.

Not necessarily; there are some of us here in the late great state of Commiefornication who are real conservatives and will do every thing possible to keep this carpet-bagging piece of sh#t out of any official position in this state or any federal office.
We don’t forget the traitors; EVER.
