This is long but worth reading. The basic gist of the article is that the government climate research community has been ignoring the discrepancy between predicted temperatures (hot and getting hotter) and actual temperatures (which have been flat for 15+ years). Now, suddenly, right before their big new UN assessment of climate science, they are promising to address the problem "head on" but in reality they are just adding a few hand-waving paragraphs to a conclusion that was baked long before they even started writing it.

They are just going to dig in deeper with their alarmist nonsense. There will be more shouting about “settled” “science” and more namecalling hurled against their opposition. They have nothing else.

Steve McIntyre has done more to set the climate debate straight than all the Nobel Prize winning Climate “Scientists” put together.

It’s hard to fight liars and propagandists.
The fact that there is a “discrepancy” is why there was a “leaked” report weeks in advance. Once the final report comes out, it will already be “old news”, we must now “move on” and responsible governments should now be about the goal of taking swift action to prevent global climate change once we get past this “pause”, don’tcha know.
The only headline from the msm will be the scientific community is more convinced than ever that there is global climate change and that it is caused by human activity.
