Reid asked Cruz if he would give McCain his 15 minutes....he also threw out that he would allow until 1 pm. Cruz wouldn’t bite. Poor McCain wouldn’t even come in himself and speak - he had to send Harry in to ask permission. Wuss.
I think McCain and Reid hatched a plot that they would let Cruz have until 1 pm but the price would be McCain speaking — and McCain would go on a one hour rant to try to undo what Cruz has accomplished. Cruz recognized he was trying to be bamboozled and did not fall for it.
