Everyone here loves Cruz (me too) but yall hate Paul and yet Paul and Cruz have almost the exact same position on illegals. I just do not get the irrational hate of one of our best in the Senate.
Paul wants to secure the border (build the fence)
Paul wants to secure the vote (make sure only citizens vote)
Paul wants no new pathway to citizenship (illegals must return to home country to apply)
Cruz says exactly the same thing. What spin doctors call amnesty is Paul would give legal status (work visas) to qualified illegals already here and working. Guess what so would Cruz.

Only 100 miles of fence/per year up to the point where the US Congress "Certifies" the border is secure.
The same congress comprised of 50% Democrats who already think the border is secure and another 15%-25% of Republicans who feel the same way.
So, in effect, even that 100 miles won't get built.
Rand Paul is a whole lot of hot-air on this issue.

I don’t hate Paul at all. Regarding immigration, it seems necessary for him to correct or clarify his positions which doesn’t elicit confidence as far as politicians go.
