A home invasion robbery Thursday night in northwest Gainesville ended with one gunman being shot multiple times and another culprit fleeing and remaining on the loose, police reported.
At around 10:47 p.m., the two men forced their way into an apartment in the Georgetown Apartments complex, located at 1324 NW 16th Ave., the Gainesville Police Department reported. The men were brandishing firearms and went immediately to the back bedroom, where two women were sleeping, and demanded money, striking one of the women in the head with a pistol, police said.
Meantime, a man who had been in the kitchen when the gunmen burst in armed himself with a gun and ran out the front door, police said. He soon returned through the front door and confronted one of the gunmen, shooting him multiple times, after which the gunman fell to the floor, police said.

Whitehurst nearly got “whitehearsed.”
Sounds to me like this guy needs to either;
a) spend more time at the range, or
b) get a bigger gun
They know if they fire, it means jail for life or possibly worse.
Most criminals think they know the limits and press up against them for the thrill of it. But like an addiction, they need more and more to get the same experience.
Our society, currently does not teach the youth about these and other slippery slopes (like drugs and illicit sex) properly because of our 'values free' education.
Until you've been there, it's all theory. The guy is alive and well and the perp is defanged - good outcome.
“Why am I not surprised?

Yeah, I thought, “Hmmm, that sounds like a white name”. Then I Googled it and found that picture. At least his parents didn’t want to saddle him with Taniq or Trayvon. Too bad they couldn’t be bothered to teach him to not act like a thug.
I’m confused. Why’d he go out AFTER getting his gun, then go back in? Panic attack, overcome by concern for the women?

I was not there, but it seemed to work. Could be that it just made tactical sense.
Lots of reasons to flank attackers, or make them think you have fled, when it is only a tactical move to gain advantage.
He needed multiple shots to down one and the other got away.
