Apple fans waiting in an early-morning line for the release of the new iPhone were robbed at gunpoint on Friday, Houston police said.
It was reported around 5 a.m. at the AT&T store on Westheimer Road at Chimney Rock. Police said people were camped outside the store when two armed guys got out of a car.
One of the victims told KHOU 11 News the robbers walked up and started making demands.
Gimme everything youve got. I emptied out my pocket, and he takes away my iPhone, my iPad -- because it was on the ground already, the victim said. Hes like, give me your wallet. Im like, I dont have one come look.

In Houston?
Surprised someone in line didn’t shoot ‘em!
Aleutian Islanders!!!
I’m like what is wrong with these like people that they would like camp out just to be among the like first to buy something?
Ops, nope that's a short putt, not a drive.
A similar situation in ATL recently, with campers waiting for high-end tennis shoes, ended much more acceptably.
Man fatally shot after trying to rob people waiting to buy LeBron James sneaker in Atlanta
The unidentified shooter returned to the line after the shooting.
I loved this:
I salute the homie that did that, said Taylor White, who waited nearly a week in line.
“Previous generations learned to say “I said...” or “He said...” These archaic usages have now been replaced by “I’m like...” or “I was all...”
Correct. Not as archaic and certainly much cooler than the old stodgy phrases.
Another new and improved (and cooler) phrase is “I’ll do a cheeseburger”, rather than the antiquated “I’ll have a cheeseburger, please.”
Surprised someone in line didnt shoot em!”
Not in this line in this part of Houston with this segment of the population. Other areas someone would be packing.
Northern part of Houston is taking it on the chin with robberies and murders. Did surprise me that none of the people working in any of these places were carrying. Just really stupid. Of course the mayor and chief of police - who just suspended his own salary for one day because he hit a lawyer - just keep saying if people cooperate with the robbers and killers nothing will happen to them. BS!
I’m waiting for the first lawyer to start signing up “victims” to sue Apple for not providing security for these “customers” waiting to throw money down the toilet for the newest shiny thing. After all Apple created an attractive nuisance by allowing customers to camp out.
Just cutting the government out of the loop is all.
Did anyone in FReeperville get an iPhone 5S??
