You can't do anything if you don't at least try!

That's exactly what is wrong with this do-nothing congress! The GOPe rolls over and plays dead!

I can't stand "Keating Five" McCain!

true, but there is a lot to be said for choosing the right time to try. If a motion to strike occurs, and succeeds in removing the defund portion, you have just handed a clean CR to the president. I read earlier today a conservative writer decrying something to the effect of ‘democrats continue to patiently play chess while the republicans run around screaming and throwing checkers’. I fear only personalities will come out looking good, but on the whole conservative interests will be hurt. But, perhaps there is more gamesmanship going on behind the scenes by Cruz and co than i realize.

“You can’t do anything if you don’t at least try!”

There are rules. As long as the Democrats stick together, and they are all puppets on this, then there is no chance. When the houses are split it’s always the RINOs, like McCain, defecting to their side that enable freedom stealing legislation. Republicans almost never stick together like Dems do. (Nixon could not be impeached without Republicans who followed the law rather than the party. But Obama could butcher children and eat them on Saturday Night Live and not lose a single Democrat vote to impeachment.)

The GOP can force the Dems to put themselves on record as supporting this. Then, if we can take the Senate in 2014 and hold the house, we can probably control the budget and do lots of damage to Obamacare. But we can’t get rid of it if we don’t have the votes to overcome a veto. There simply aren’t enough seats in play to allow that kind of majority.

I will be working for conservative senators and representatives in 2014. That’s all I personally can do.
