Updated at 3:40 p.m. EDT: Officials stated that the Washington Navy Yard shooter who died after Monday's rampage has been identified as Aaron Alexis, 34, from Texas.

He had a contract job at the DFW base but it ended and he got another one in Washington. Friend in FtW says he was not happy with the Washington contractor.
I am sure the dems and Obama are working on that TP now. Will be hard seeing that the perp was employed by private company.

I’m betting the shooter is a violent version of Bradley “Chelsea” Manning, and that he went on a shooting spree because his boyfriend jilted him.

I heard on Fox that the bullet that misfired went through his ceiling and in the apt above him. Apparently, he had problems with the lady who lived above him and she was terrified of him. (ahem - accidental?)

3) He served for about 4 yrs in TX as an active-duty reservist
4) He was a specialist - an aviation engineer
5) Was discharged in 2011
6) One Navy official said he had a history of misconduct but would not say what that meant
7) After he laft navy, he was hired as a contractor, an Information specialist, even though he had left navy after a history of misconduct

Very strange...brother in law claims he never met or had contact with Alexis.
The family is “distraught,” Anthony Little, the suspect’s brother-in-law told NBC 4 New York.
“It’s a shocking experience, nobody expected this,” he said. “No one saw it coming, no one knew anything. So all of this is just shocking.”
Little, who is married to Alexis’ sister, said he’d never met the alleged gunman or had contact with him. He implored the media gathered outside his family’s home Monday to “back off a little bit, give the family a chance to deal with this process.”

Father said son “was an active participant in rescue attempts of 911.”
2010 - bullet thru ceiling incident. Neighbor said he had complained several times that she was making too much noise.
