See post #2:

“Several lawmakers and aides who have been canvassing support say that nearly 80 percent of the House Republican Conference is, to some degree, opposed to launching strikes in Syria. Informal counts by Obama allies show that support in Congress for Obama’s plans is in the low dozens.”

He’s already in one! Just trying to stay relevant and look like a playa.

Our Republican congress should vote on ObamaWar the same way they voted for ObamaCare!

A limited 60-90 Days war just doesn't grab MeCain's attention!

He has some sort of deal with a division of the rebels that will be realized after the current leadership is removed. He wants our guys on the ground ( He thinks he’s the reincarnation of Gen.Curtis Lemay) Who is running our government for God Sake.

When does this blowhard bungler come up for re-election?

Can't you Arizona people kick out this jerk?

MESSAGE TO MCCAIN:

Thank you for your service in Viet Nam. You set a fine example.

Now get out of the way so that someone competent can serve in the Senate.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice will brief the Congressional Black Caucus Sept. 9.

Whut, so the Congressional Black Caucus has a say in military matters now?

Why? Because Obama won’t let that nut case McCain push the nuke button?

No word from Graham, but he will likely follow McCain’s lead.

He now opposes a resolution crafted by fellow Republican Sens. Bob Menendez of New Jersey and Bob Corker of Tennessee. It puts a 90-day limit on action and says no American troops can be sent into Syria.

Asked if he supported it, McCain said, “In its current form, I do not.”

Gretchen on F&F read a piece of the Senate resolution which called for the US to get involved in the civil war and find a resolution (or words to that effect)- this must not pass!!

McCain was probably not included in the Senate group that drafted the resolution. He is making the point that he is the alpha male and nothing will happen without his express approval. Lindsey Graham, Ayotte, Rubio, and the rest of his sycophants will follow his lead. It is all about ego.

Without reading the story, I would guess that The War Lover will not support the draft resolution because it DOES NOT go far enough.
I hate and fear this man probably more than any other.

IMO, we need to end these - excuse the metaphor - pussy wars. It started with the “police action” in Korea.

If we engage our military overseas, it should only be by way of a Declaration of War with the will and intent to destroy the enemy and take the spoils of war.

What McCain won’t say: We need boots on the ground in Syria... so they can get gassed, and then the American public will be outraged enough to support the bigger goal: boots on the ground in Iran...
