Just look at how hard the Obama administration has tried to keep domestic spying by the NSA secret — and how little success it has had doing so. The NSA’s activities are highly classified. The data on climate, by contrast, are open to scrutiny by anyone . . .

I don't think I would have used that particular argument, pardner. Wasn't Global Warming the first major casualty of WikiLeaks—showing specifically that "research" at East Anglia—and yes, Virginia! That is, UVa—had turned into a conspiracy to cover up unhelpful data and suppress the publication of papers that were damaging to the Global Toast hypothesis? All to protect, not the truth, but funding?

I am reminded of how the Catholic Church....for roughly a thousand years....did everything possible to ensure nothing written by Aristotle was in public view, or used in any of the church’s universities of higher learning. Challenging their way of thinking was just plain unacceptable. By destroying most of the works of Aristotle....the Catholic Church almost had their version of the universe and knowledge easily sewn up.

Then, along came those silly Muslims....who apparently kept a great deal of the works of Aristotle. And over the years, as enlightenment arrived....the church’s version of reality disappeared.

I think the global warming crowd faces the same disappointment in the end. Fake science doesn’t win against real science.
